Joanna M. Metsker is a violinist and violist who hails from Kansas City, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Music Education and Performance Diploma from Missouri State University, where she studied violin with Dr. David Hays. Joanna earned a Master of Music in Violin Performance at the University of Missouri under Susan Jensen. Joanna is Assistant Principal Second Violin in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra; she also performs with Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Tulsa Symphony, Kinnor Philharmonic, Springfield Regional Opera, Kansas City Jazz Orchestra, and freelances extensively in Kansas City and Springfield. She founded 417 String Quartet, an ensemble focused on performing popular music. Joanna has shared the stage with many notable musicians and performers such as the Eagles, Andy Williams, Lindsey Stirling, Evanescence, Two Cellos, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. In addition to her classical background, Joanna enjoys improvising, fiddling and dabbling in jazz. She plays fiddle in Kansas City entertainment band, Lost Wax. Joanna splits her time between Springfield and Kansas City and is a proud dog mom to Ernie.
