My story begins in the beautiful coastal town of Apalachicola, where the ocean was never just water it was home. Growing up surrounded by shorelines, sea life, and the magic of the Gulf, I developed a deep love and respect for marine life at an early age.
As a young girl, I spent my time volunteering with Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve, assisting with manatee preservation efforts, learning the importance of protecting our oceans and the incredible creatures that call them home. I was always adventurous swimming fearlessly in waters filled with alligators, fish, manatees, and all kinds of ocean life. The sea never scared me; it called me.
As a teenager, I became a lifeguard at my neighborhood pool, where I learned discipline, water safety, and the responsibility that comes with protecting others. I had my first and only run in with the law when I was caught freeing lobsters from their cages. My love for water and performance eventually led me into hospitality, where I worked in luxury hotels providing guest experiences, classes, and live entertainment. That’s where I discovered the true magic of creating unforgettable moments for people.
Today, I travel the shores and beaches of New England, blending education, elegance, and entertainment by teaching ocean preservation while bringing mermaid magic to life for children, families, luxury events, and corporate experiences.
From whimsical storytelling and ocean animal sign language songs to enchanting pool performances and immersive mermaid appearances, I create unforgettable experiences that inspire wonder and connection.

Creating magical, memorable, and safe mermaid moments for all ages

Thank you for considering Ethereal Mermaid Mika for your special event! Before we dive into the enchantment, it’s important to ensure that the experience is not only whimsical and memorable but also safe, well-prepared, and professionally managed. Please read the following performance policies carefully. These terms help guarantee a smooth event flow, clarity for all involved, and a safe, magical time for every guest. Booking my services means you have reviewed and agreed to these terms.

🌊 1. Approved Performance Environments
As a professional mermaid entertainer, my performances are best suited for specific aquatic and land-based settings. These are carefully chosen for both the safety of the guests and the integrity of the mermaid performance.

Allowed Water-Based Settings:

Residential or commercial swimming pools with depths between 3 to 6 feet

Ocean shorelines (calm, swimmable waters only)

Lagoon or shallow water areas with clear visibility and safety measures in place

Prohibited Venues:

Pools deeper than 6 feet

Natural bodies of water with strong tides, murky waters, or rough currents

Hot tubs, lazy rivers, water parks (unless special arrangements are made)

Indoor settings that do not meet ventilation, moisture, or safety requirements

⚠️ If your pool is saltwater or heated, please notify me in advance so I can properly prepare my costume and equipment.

Land-Based Options:

Poolside setups

Beach setups

Indoor setups (such as photo booths or throne seating)

Mermaid throne or coral cove displays for meet-and-greets

All land-based setups must allow safe and secure access for the performer and have a clean, dry seating area or throne provided (unless one is arranged as part of your package).

🛟 2. Lifeguard & Supervision Requirement
While I may look like a magical guardian of the sea, I do not serve as a certified lifeguard during events. Clients must ensure the presence of an appropriate adult supervisor or certified lifeguard during all water-based portions of the event.

This ensures:

Adequate supervision of children and teens

Emergency support in case of accidents

Legal liability protection for all parties involved

If you do not have a lifeguard on staff, I can help recommend local services for hire.

🏊🏽‍♀️ 3. Swimming Skills & Safety for Participants
Safety is my highest priority especially during interactive water play. If your event involves guests in the water with the mermaid, please note the following requirements:

For Water Games or Mermaid Swimming Activities:

All children, teens, and adults must be confident, independent swimmers

Floatation devices will be provided or allowed during these games

The client is responsible for pre-screening participants’ swimming abilities

Participants must follow all mermaid and lifeguard instructions at all times

If a child is not a strong swimmer, they may still participate in dry activities like:

Storytelling

Singing & Mermaid Songs

Crafts & Games (on shore or poolside)

Photo Opportunities

⚠️ The mermaid performer reserves the right to pause or cancel any in-water activity if participant safety is at risk.

🎭 4. Props, Costumes, and Themed Decor – Included in Pricing
To help create a magical experience, all performance props, themed accessories, and basic visual setups are included in the hourly rate. These may include:

Mermaid throne or coral rock seating (when selected)

Sea-themed decorations for photo setups

Eco-friendly bubbles or smoke-free fog machines (if applicable)

Seashell, pearl, or coral-themed props

Tail accessories and oceanic crowns

Portable waterproof sound system (for music or singing)

You do not need to purchase, rent, or provide any extra mermaid decor for performance artist.

Note: Custom themes and deluxe backdrops (e.g., under-the-sea castles, ocean arches) can be arranged for an additional fee.

📸 5. Photo & Media Policy
You’re welcome to take unlimited photos and videos during the event for personal use. Please tag me on social media if posting publicly!

Professional photographers/videographers are welcome, but please notify me in advance for coordination. All photos must be respectful and not used for commercial or promotional use without written permission.

📆 6. Booking, Deposits & Cancellation Policy
To officially secure your date and time slot, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Final balance is due at least 72 hours before the event.

Cancellations:

Cancellations with more than 7 days' notice may be rescheduled (subject to availability)

Cancellations with fewer than 72 hours’ notice will result in forfeiture of deposit

In case of weather-related cancellations for outdoor events, your performance may be moved indoors or rescheduled without penalty

🌦️ 7. Weather & Environmental Considerations
For outdoor events (pools or beaches), please prepare for changing weather. I can perform in light drizzle or warm temperatures, but extreme heat, lightning, wind, or storm conditions may require performance pauses or modifications.

You agree to provide:

Shaded areas or umbrellas if temps exceed 85°F

Dry, clean seating options in case of rain

Indoor backup plans (if possible)

Safety always comes first even in fantasy.

👗 8. Performer Needs & Comfort
As your magical mermaid, I require a private, secure area to change and prepare before and after the performance. This can be a bathroom, pool house, or enclosed tent.

Please also ensure:

Hydration is available (bottled water or coconut water preferred)

Stairs or entry points are safe and accessible for fin movement

Staff or client contact is available on site for coordination

💕 9. Customization & Add-On Options
Want to add a little extra sparkle to your experience? Custom packages are available upon request. Add-ons may include:

Personalized ocean gifts for birthday guests

Under-the-sea-themed gift bags

Storybook readings or themed puppet shows

Glitter tattoos or face gems

Mermaid swim lessons (on request & with partner lifeguards)

Mermaid Mika is committed to providing a respectful, inclusive, and family-friendly experience. All guests, regardless of age, background, or identity, are welcome to enjoy the magic.

I kindly ask:

No inappropriate photos, comments, or behavior toward the performer

No touching the costume or tail without permission

No disruptive or unsafe behavior around the pool or set area NO RUNNING!

Any violation of this code may result in early termination of services without refund.

📩 11. Final Notes
By confirming your booking and submitting your deposit, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these performance guidelines. These terms are designed to protect you, your guests, and the performer ensuring a delightful, safe, and unforgettable mermaid experience.
