Overview
Merle is an semi-professional magician and crafter who enjoys performing, sharing mountain folklore, and DIY magical maintenance. As a “magical maintenance man”, Merle brings his folksy style to a mix of classic magician routines and unique illusions.
Professional and practical, Merle can demonstrate how to manage fairy-tale critters (safely and humanely), why maintaining your magical do-dads and whatsits is important, and how proper know-how can make the impossible probable.

What a hit! My 6-year-old and her friends (3-8 years) ALL loved Merle and his hilarious and informative show. They kids were so eager to participate, we (parents) had to run security to keep them from rushing the performance space. I want to have another party, just so we can have him back!

What to expect
Merle's family shows are unique and folksy performances best for audiences with kids in the 5-12 range. His props and humor are themed around tools, safety, "magical maintenance", folklore, nature, and fairytales, with some silly costuming and the occasional puppet (if he can be coaxed out). Audience participation is needed, and children who assist will help make objects disappear, perform card tricks in unique ways, and defy physics with the help of fairytale logic.
Birthday shows will focus on the guest of honor and the magic particular to the special day. Scouting and camping events will have a show with themes of nature, responsibility, and the often overlooked world of forest critters (up-to and including fairies and Sasquatches).
