May 6, 2022With very little lead time, Melissa came to Chicago to speak to Seneca Foundation’s graduating apprentice cohort – 14 Black and Latinx young adults who had completed a six-month software development training program to launch their tech career with a Seneca partner company, while at the same time beginning their college journey. Melissa connected with the apprentices on her core beliefs, engaged them with stories of her own career, and lifted them up with a simple yet powerful message – You Belong! An established executive with a background in leadership, business, and product development, Melissa is a former nonprofit board member, having served on the Board of Directors for both Scrum Alliance (as Co-CEO) and Agile Denver. Melissa is a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC), Certified Team Coach (CTC), Dare to Lead Trained (DTL), Training from the Back of the Room Trained (TBR), Certified LeSS Practitioner (CLP), Kanban Management Professional (KMP I), and a Project Management Professional (PMP). She holds an MBA in IT Management and a B.S. in Information Technology from Western Governors University.

A clean, hard, smooth floor that is at least 12ft.x 8 ft. is required to safely execute the talk with skates. I use indoor wheels with no toe stop, so there is no risk of damaging the floor. I have received feedback that the choreography is difficult to see if the stage is not elevated and centered for the audience.
