Melissa offers multiple music services including, background instrumental solo piano, piano accompaniment for singers, solo singing pianist, dueling pianist, classical piano, rock n roll, pop cover songs, etc. She can perform for 4 hours max. Any additional hours will be subject to overtime fees. You can request any song and she will play it.
Born and raised as a Filipina-American in LA, Melissa Alcazar spends most of her time managing the Alcazar Piano Studio, gigging as a professional pianist & producing her annual two-piano benefit concert called “Il Pianoforte.” She’s garnered a number of 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishes throughout her lifetime with the most recent 2nd place award from the 2012 U.S. Open Music Competition in Oakland, CA. Currently holding an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts as a Dumont Foundation Scholar, she is the Music Director/Vocalist for the Central Christian Church located in La Crescenta. As a performer, she travels all over Los Angeles performing as one of many featured pianists in events such as the Gubaidulina Festival and The John Cage Festival at REDCAT, The 2012 Microfest, Levitt Pavillion’s 2nd Annual Wild Beast Concert Series and Jacaranda's 100 Cage Festival. Her most recent project is to release her 1st EP of original music titled, "Journey To Naima,". Another project she's involved with is called "Il Pianoforte," a two-piano benefit concert that aids typhoon victims in Romblon, Philippines. She currently maintains studios in both San Diego and Los Angeles counties with a total of 21 students.
Melissa prefers if you provide all equipment including piano. However for an extra fee, Melissa can provide a digital keyboard with a grand piano shell, two PA's, 2 monitors, mixing board, 4 microphones, and lighting. For a quote on sound equipment, message Melissa directly.
