Overview

MC Shoehorn creates music with his feet and dances with his horn. His shows are spiked with humor and truly fun for all ages. Shoehorn combines his own tap dance rhythms with hot sax work, cool percussion, and looped woodwinds in his one-man show Dances with Instruments. With a sophisticated sense of form and a seasoned concept, he presents original tunes, songbook standards, and jams with groovy riffs and flashing footwork to mount a sincere, soulful spectacle. In addition to his signature simultaneous sax and tap dance, he is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, arranger and composer, with an ear for music from around the world.

Thank you Sandra. I believe I was a good fit given your request for solo sax without any electronic sound reinforcement, which is one of my specialties. It seemed like everyone was having a very good time!

Shoehorn is the BEST!

I first found Shoehorn playing and tapping in Northwest Portland about 20 years ago and have hired him ever since! His unique talent of tap dancing while playing a killer saxaphone has brought so many smiles and positive vibes to my events over the years. I highly recommend him!
