High Quality Performer, Very Professional & Talented!

Maxwell was extremely professional and responsive throughout the planning process and during our event. We were looking for someone to perform the solo violin during a cocktail reception, and wanted up-beat, current songs to keep the energy up. I could see that his repertoire was typically more classic/slower music (from what I saw), but upon request, he sent a sample playlist of current songs, and a video of him performing one of the songs. He showed up early to the venue, and was set up and playing by the time our first guests arrived. Maxwell is a talented performer, extremely polite and professional, and he played beautifully the entire time. Highly recommend!!

About

Maxwell Fairman is a Cincinnati-based violinist and composer who performs across classical, jazz, and popular styles. He made his White House debut at age 12 as a member of the Perfect Fourth quartet, performing for Michelle Obama, and his Carnegie Hall debut at age 13 with the Peraza Music Workshop Ensemble.
Maxwell has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, and Cincinnati Philharmonic, and he has served as concertmaster of the NEC Philharmonia and the Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra.
Beyond the classical stage, Maxwell has collaborated with Wynton Marsalis on All Rise at Chautauqua (2024) and appears in Marsalis’ PBS documentary covering the performance. In 2025, he won Harvard’s Apollo Night with a violin performance of Killing Me Softly and Them Changes.
Maxwell holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the New England Conservatory, where he studies on a full-tuition merit scholarship with Donald Weilerstein. His previous teachers include Almita Vamos, Davis King, and Marion Peraza.
As a composer, he has had his works commissioned by organizations including the New England Conservatory Chamber Orchestra and Castle of Our Skins, and premiered by ensembles such as the Boston Landmarks Orchestra and the Boston Latin Academy String Orchestra.
Maxwell performs for concert audiences as well as private events, corporate functions, and weddings, and is committed to creating a tailored, memorable musical experience for each setting.

Additional booking notes

Indoor venues or covered outdoor spaces are required to protect the violin from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and rain. For louder environments or larger events, amplification is recommended. I have a pickup mic and 200W speaker, but access to an in-house sound system is preferred for large venues when available.
