Marvin Lee grew up in the deep south listening to a very wide range of music. Influenced by appalachian music, delta blues, jazz, zydeco, country and all of the other genres that create the musical jambalaya in this region. All this inspiration created a desire for a 14 year old Marvin Lee to seek out a guitar teacher and begin his musical journey. After attending college on scholarship for Jazz Bass, he transitioned into a successful career as a videographer and for many years music was relegated to a passionate hobby. In 2015, through a series of life changing events, Marvin Lee begin to write music and focus on creating a personal style of guitar playing centered around a the banjo style of playing known as claw hammer style. It was a percussive style that is upbeat and instinctually accepted by even those who are not familiar with the style. This focus on instinctual music has been the driving force in Marvin Lee's music and provides a soulful experience for people of all ages and origins. Marvin Lee feels that music truly is a magical salve for a wounded people and is best applied to one individual at a time. Music gives hope with restores faith and creates a better world. For those looking for a musician, this translates into a memorable event that brings smiles on recollection.

For groups larger than 6 people, it is highly recommended to have a PA system. Marvin Lee can accommodate groups up to around 250 people. For groups larger than that, it is recommended to contract out the sound system. Marvin Lee can also provide licensed recorded music before and after the performance that complies with all licensing requirements for public spaces.
