A variety of music for a variety of audiences. (1) Cowboy Music for Kids. Full cowboy regalia complete with trusty stick horse and side kicks. (2) An entertainer with extensive stage and screen experience performing Clubs/Parties/Feasts/Weddings/MC/Radio/TV for special occasions. (3)House Concerts for more intimate living room settings with original tunes and stories, CD recordings available. (3) Mature content with comedic twists. Travels "self contained" and available year round.
I have been a fan of Marshall Mitchell for over 10 yrs and heard him in many different venues. He is the consummate professional and always FUN! Kids love him, but my favorite time is the adult music. He can play rock n roll as well as country and does a great job getting the crowd involved. You will not be disappointed if you book MM.

The Marshall Mitchell Experience allows audience members, through a musical sojourn, to relive memories while creating new ones. The journey cuts a wide swath through many musical genres that include slow dances to get up and boogie tunes. One liners and whimsical stories are sprinkled throughout the performance and the audience members are constantly drawn into the performance either by name or by association. Outside the "Cowboy Music for Kids" presentation....mature audiences 40 and up are generally more receptive.
Born in Texas...grew up in California....lived in Kansas City (both sides) and moved to Arkansas from the Great State of Connecticut. A pure troubadour, if there ever was one. As, truly, a "one man band" he plays drums with his feet and switches on and off electronic harmonies, all while playing guitar and singing. Thousands of miles of black top and countless stages (large and small) have honed his musical and lyrical talent to be an engaging songwriting/story telling entertainer for the young and the not so young. His versatility allows his presentations a wide range; from Family Friendly to Adult Only, as the venue warrants. A military veteran and college (almost) graduate, Marshall has also, written, starred, filmed, edited and distributed educational material (CD's, DVD's, paperbacks) for his local watershed, since 2010. From Iowa State Fair performances, backyard parties, major concert openings, cozy house concerts, elementary schools and nursing homes, radio and television; he's been there....done them all, and then some. A Marshall Mitchell show is well known for professionalism and lighthearted presentations within his performance circles. He continues to build on an extensive repertoire of copy material (from Sons of the Pioneers to the Eagles and beyond), all the while continuing to write and record his original material (5 CD's and 2 Singles, so far). What Marshall Mitchell has done in the past......he continues to do toward the future and is able to bring to your next event.
I usually travel "self contained" for audiences, up to 1000 outside...meaning I have sufficient sound reinforcement, including stage lighting for my presentation. Audiences over 1000 requires additional sound reinforcement from outside sources. A standard 110 electrical outlet should be within 30 feet of the stage. If electricity is not available, a generator capable of providing 1000 watts of power should be provided within 30 feet of the stage. The stage area should be 8 x 8 minimum. For any event, one hour (minimum) for load-in/set-up and would prefer at least that for tear-down/load-out. Exceptions for multiple performers on the same stage (ei Festivals, concerts, etc) Will require a private area to change clothing for performance and again for tear down. An entrance and parking pass provided for the day of the performance. Food and drink are a plus.
Marshall Mitchell "original" songs. Some cover songs available include, but are not limited to; Artists such as Hank Williams (both), John Cash, Waylon, Willie, Jimmy Buffett, Eagles, Beatles, John Prine, James Taylor, Alabama, George Straight, Jerry Jeff Walker, Queen, Steve Earle, Charlie Daniels, Pink Floyd, Steve Miller, Don Williams, Doc Watson, Roy Rogers, Roger Miller, Michael Martin Murphy, John Denver, Hoyt Axton, The Carter Family, Tom Petty, Everly brothers, Jim Croce, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Lional Ritchie, Kevin Welch, Greatful Dead, Queen, Creedance, Neil Sadaka, Chuck Berry, Eddy Arnold, Sons of the Pioneers, Bob Wills, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Marty Robbins, etc etc and etc Some of all...all of some, depending on the crowd and application.
Early folk and country acts (Peter, Paul & Mary, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkle, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Willie & Waylon) Rock groups (Eagles, Beatles, Beach Boys, Moody Blues) But also was intrigued with vocal groups (Sons of the Pioneers, Chuck Wagon Gang, Kingston Trio). Love Doc Watson, Leo KottKey, Tony Rice, Norman Blake. Moved by Gorden Lightfoot, Guy Clark, John Denver, Jerry Jeff Walker, Joe Ely and many more
