With over five years of consistant creative event hosting, I bring ease, professionalism, and support to the mic. I create a safe space for all participants and lead an event with authenticity. I extensive experience writing original pieces and work professionally with the individual or group requesting the piece and dedicate myself to a heartfelt performance. No matter the venue, theme, event, or audience I make sure everyone is touched or feels seen. I can match the vibe effortlessly but always remain positive and ensure flow of show is successful.

Marissa Forbes (she/her) is an award-winning author, visual artist, and community amplifier. Her poetry books, “Surviving Peter Pan” (Beyond the Veil Press) and “Brief & Bleeding Margins” (World Stage Press) were published in 2023. She has spent the last five years building open mics, workshops, and performance opportunities for herself and fellow poets. She is the Managing Editor for Twenty Bellows, a CO indie press, was named the 2026 CO Poet for the America 250/Colorado 150 Public Arts Project by the Governor's Office, and commissioned by Denver Summit FC to compose and perform an opening day ode. She has resided all over the country but now lives a colorful life in Denver with her two children, dad, dog, and fat cat where she hones her personal mission to amplify art and community in Colorado.

I have performed a ride range of settings, from conferences to parks, from punk rock basements, to coffee shops, from stadiums to schools and I am comfortable in all. There are no requirements, I even come with my own mic, stand, and high quality amp.
