Mariachi Son De Mexico

I hired this band to perform at our wedding ceremony for an hour this past weekend. That same day, they called to say they needed to leave at 6:50 because they had another performance afterwards they had forgotten about. Come to find out, our event coordinator said they left at 6:40. They only played two songs, none of which we requested, and no one noticed they played. I wanted to walk down the aisle to “hermoso carińo” and surprise my father with this beautiful song. They didn’t play the song I specifically requested as we walked down and my father didn’t even notice they played. Very disappointed with their services as this was supposed to be special for our wedding day.

I booked these mariachis on short notice as the original musician I hired had an emergency on the day of the proposal. So I was relieved when this group of mariachis agreed to be at the location at the time specified. I took great care to time the walk to the location so me and my fiance would arrive right at the given time. I waited for 5 minutes trying to stall my fiance with shenanigans, but then I got a message that they were barely arriving and they had to set up first. 5-10 minutes isn't a long time, but it is when you're trying to surprise someone, at this point she started getting suspicious and my frustration was mounting. However, I wanted to be in a good headspace for the night. In her condition (4 months prrgnant) I proposed we went inside the restaurant we had booked to shelter from the summer heat. We went inside, sat, got drinks, and they still weren't ready. At this point i had to secretely advise our waiter of the proposal situation and let him know that we would step out for a few minutes. When I got the text that they were finally ready I was forced to tell my fiance I had something planned outside. When I went to the spot we had agreed on (the fountain with lighted trees), they were nowhere in sight. At this point I had to call the mariachi and we found the problem: I am not from brownsville. So I did not know that there were actually two fountains in thr same block. This was my fault I admit, I apologized and asked if they could come this way. He frustratedly said "we are already set up over here, can you all come this way?". Keep in mind, it's a 50 foot walk max to get to where we were at. It was within the same block. At this point I felt myself getting upset and I would rather remember the night in a good mood rather than in the ideal place. So we walked towards them and I proposed in a random street with no scenic views, in front of a bar. It was only lovely thanks to my fiancé who made me forget about the whole ordeal with her presence and of course her answer. We had our moment, I paid the band, and even shook their hand. I guess love trumps all. I can live with this. But you don't have to because you read this review. Don't book this group.

Mariachi Son de Mexico are a fantastic group...we loved their performance!!! They were professional and very responsive to our questions. We definitely recommend them and we will keep them in mind for any future events.

Amazing customer service and performance. I work out of state and they made every effort to make this the best experience ever. Would highly recommend!
