Right-sized ensemble: duo, trio (guitar and accordion), or full mariachi of 6 to 16 with violins and trumpet. We match the size to your room, guest count, and budget.

Your music: traditional and modern mariachi, sones, boleros, polkas, and norteño. Tell us the mood and the crowd, and we build the set. Song requests and dedications are welcome.

Vocal harmony: every musician is chosen for singing as well as playing, which is what separates a good mariachi from a great one.

For every booking, bandleader Ian Souter hand-picks the musicians who fit your occasion, venue, and music. That might be a guitar-and-accordion trio for a cocktail hour or a full mariachi with violins and trumpet for a reception; anywhere from a duo to 16 players. Every musician is chosen for command of their instrument and for their singing. Vocal harmony is our signature.

Our standard comes from Ian’s years studying and performing under Rebecca Gonzales, the first woman invited into Nati Cano’s Los Camperos. Ian holds a music degree from UCLA, and our players include a Cal Poly professor of mariachi. Those years put him alongside many of the finest mariachi musicians in Southern California, and that network is our roster.

You book us, and we show up. Every booking is under a written contract, and the musicians on your date are ours. We never subcontract your event to another group. When you hire Mariachi LBC, one bandleader is accountable for the outcome.

We play traditional and modern mariachi, sones, boleros, polkas, and norteño. We will learn custom requests for your event, as well. For weddings, we can order custom moños to match your colors if we have enough advance booking.

Our group mirrors our fine city. Long Beach is one of the most diverse cities in America, and our musicians reflect that. Our story is Irish and Mexican, the same bond as the San Patricio Battalion. That makes us a natural fit for city celebrations, cultural festivals, schools, civic ceremonies, and multicultural weddings.
