Mariachi Amador

I booked this mariachi group for my husband's 60th birthday celebration. I paid a deposit and specifically requested a performance from 6:30–7:30 PM, which they confirmed.

When they failed to arrive, I began contacting them at 6:38 PM. At 6:40 PM, I was told they "should have arrived." Then, at 6:47 PM, I was informed that the original group had a tire blowout and was repairing it. I was given three options: wait for them, have another group sent, or receive a refund.

Because this was a once-in-a-lifetime milestone celebration with all of our guests already gathered, I chose to wait. I asked how much longer it would be, and at 6:53 PM I was told they were 30 minutes away. I was also offered half of my deposit back for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, that wasn't true. By 7:53 PM—an hour later—they still had not arrived. At 8:15 PM, I was told they had arrived, but they didn't actually show up until almost 8:30 PM and didn't begin playing until approximately 8:45 PM—more than two hours late.

By then, half of our guests had already left, and the special surprise I had planned for my husband's birthday was completely ruined.

To make matters worse, the musicians who eventually arrived apologized and told us they had been performing at a wedding and had received a last-minute call to substitute for the original group. That directly contradicted the story I had been told throughout the evening about the delayed group fixing a flat tire and being "30 minutes away."

Delays and emergencies can happen. What is unacceptable is providing inaccurate updates, making promises that weren't true, and leaving a customer waiting for over two hours during a milestone event.

The partial refund never came and would not make up for the disappointment of a ruined 60th birthday celebration anyway. I would never book this company again, and I cannot recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable mariachi group for an important event.

Save yourself the stress and book someone else.
