Mari Ramsey is a 23-year-old worship leader, public speaker, singer-songwriter, author, and foster care advocate who has dedicated his life to inspiring and empowering young people. Drawing from lived experience, Mari speaks with authenticity, warmth, and hope—connecting deeply with audiences through storytelling, music, and encouragement. His work centers on resilience, identity, and fostering greatness in others, especially youth and those impacted by foster care.

At the age of 14, Mari was placed into the foster care system, a transition that radically reshaped his life. Removed from familiar surroundings and routines, Mari entered state custody alongside his younger brother, navigating uncertainty and loss at a young age. In the midst of this upheaval, a simple but pivotal moment changed everything: one week into foster care, his foster father, Mike, gifted him a guitar. What began as a coping outlet quickly became a source of healing, expression, and purpose.

Through that guitar, Mari discovered a passion for music. He taught himself to play, eventually learning multiple instruments and developing a deep appreciation for songwriting and worship. Music became more than a skill—it became a lifeline and a calling. After nine months in foster care, Mari was reunited with his family, and he immediately began pouring his story and gifts into churches, ministries, and community outreach opportunities wherever doors were open.

Today, Mari is the author of Fostered for Greatness and multiple devotionals, where he blends personal testimony with practical insight to encourage readers to rise above their circumstances and walk confidently into their potential. Since 2020, Mari has traveled across the country with teams he has assembled, leading worship, sharing his story, and encouraging churches, youth, and communities through both music and speaking.

Whether on a stage, leading worship, or speaking one-on-one, Mari’s heart is the same: to remind people that their past does not disqualify them from a meaningful future. With a unique blend of relatability, humility, and passion, Mari continues to advocate for youth and foster care communities while equipping others to foster greatness in themselves and in those around them.
