Margaret is well-versed in a number of genres, most notably classical and jazz, and plays both the acoustic and electric violin. She is an experienced musical theatre player, session musician, and event performer. She has performed alongside Mia Asano, the 8 Bit Big Band, and Sissy Castrogiovanni, and was a featured soloist in a major production at MGM Music Hall. She can perform solo or can put together a Berklee-based string duo, trio, or quartet with enough notice.

It made the intimate ceremony that much more special and it made our backyard cocktail hour seem that much more elevated. I cannot recommend her enough. She is lovely and personable. As a soloist, she can play classical, jazz, or pop/rock repertoire on either the acoustic or electric violin. Her average set is between 30 min-1 hour, although up to 2 hours is doable with enough prior notice to prepare repertoire. Depending on the event and client preferences, she is willing to put together small ensembles of up to four musicians (ex. string quartet, piano/violin duo, violin/bass/drums trio).
Margaret has been playing the violin for almost 13 years. She started out studying classical violin in Oklahoma under the concertmasters of both the Bartlesville and Tulsa Symphony Orchestras. In her youth she won a number of awards and recognitions for solo performance, chamber music, and composition. She began playing professionally as a teenager, performing for weddings, musical theatre shows, religious services, pops concerts, etc. in the greater Tulsa and Oklahoma City areas. She moved to Boston in 2020, and has been gigging around Massachusetts for the past several years. In December 2024, she will earn her degree in Violin Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production from Berklee College of Music, where she has primarily been studying jazz performance and composition.
For solo performance, Margaret brings all of her own gear. For ensembles that require amplification, an existing sound system is preferable but not necessary.
