Have born in the world Capital of Samba, Rio de Janeiro. Marco sings like no one all the Bossa- nova and samba and Brazilian repertoire. He also have lived in Guatemala so having Spanish as a second language he also sings boleros, salsas and any Spanish repertoire necessary (required in advance). Castillo also sings in English and Italian.

Brazilian Marco Castillo has been impressing international audiences around the globe. Following in his father’s footsteps, a man who recorded dozens of albums and toured the world with "Trio Irakitan", Marco’s skills were honed at the feet of the best. After graduating with a B.A. in Music in Rio de Janeiro,1994 at “Estcio de S University”, he instantly began touring South America with Brazil’s hottest bands.

Since his debuted in the Winnipeg music scene in 2008, Marco has been giving back as much as he has been given. His musical influence can be seen everywhere among his peers. Marco has been infusing and spreading his infectious, uplifting Latin-World grooves all over. Whether it’s his work as a solo artist or his collaborations, not the least of which is his full 8 piece "Brazilian Beats" band which features the most talented musicians in Winnipeg who always bring a one of a kind energetic and contagious rhythms.

His intelligent treatment of some the rich Brazilian styles on his Canadian debut CD, "Brazilian Season" in 2008, ensured that it topped college radio charts for several weeks. Castillo’s much anticipated new release "Trip to Brazil" in 2011, the sumptuous samba compilation. The CD snatched the World recording of the Year from Western Canadian Music Awards in 2012 in Regina; Castillo newest ten track release "Zabel" 2014 is a piece of art composed of solely original songs with the best Brazilian flavours: Samba, Forr and Funk. Consisting of two instrumental songs and eight lyrical masterpieces, "Zabel" delivers a variety of systemized and deluxe textures and rhythms that will surely bring all listeners the unique Brazilian experience. The new CD was just nominated for the 2014 Western Canadian Music Awards.

Marco Castillo is a finalist for the 2015 Via del Mar music festival in Chile. Held annually since 1960, this international song contest is one of the most important music festivals in Latin America, broadcast to over 100,000,000 viewers. Castillo’s original song "Forr no Canada" from his recently released CD Zabel, was one of six finalists in the Folkloric category of the competition.

The Via del Mar festival takes place from February 15 to 28, 2015 in Via del Mar, Chile. The festival has launched the careers of many international artists, including Julio Iglesias and Shakira
