Makani Events

For parties, we make a grand entrance and engage the kids right away. Our handler will set up an activity and encourage the kids to participate. This gets the kids relaxed and ready to party. We find that a simple activity such as coloring, puzzle, or game works really well to get them acclimated. If small children are scared of a fur character, we find sitting the character in a chair near the activity and engaging for just a few minutes works wonders! After the activity, we ask adults to grab their cameras for picture time. After that, we sing Happy Birthday and mingle with the kids as they eat cake. We finish with a sing-a-long or dance party and bring instruments for the kids to play. We are very flexible and tailor each party to meet the needs of the individual. We offer a range of activities including storytime, outdoor games, bubbles, etc., and we are always excited to join in activities you may already have planned such as pin the tail, pinata, or other game. No two parties are the same! We also provide meet & greets, activity booths and stage performances for events. We would love to work with you!

Hello! My name is Makani McKenzie. I starred in my first stage show at seven years old and caught the acting bug. At age 11, I began working professionally as a voiceover artist, and at 13, I started my own party princess company with the "Ice Queen" all while performing in up to five stage shows every year. By the time I graduated high school, I had 29 stage shows under my belt, and I had expanded my princess business to include super heroes and fur characters as well. I went straight into performing professionally out of high school and started my theme park experience with Dollywood as the meet & greet character, Flit the Butterfly. In my four years with Dollywood, I performed as characters and in stage shows. At Anakeesta and Carowinds, I sang in 3-part harmony groups, and this past fall, I starred in a new stage show at Carowinds, Wake the Dead. I will be performing at Carowinds again this fall/winter season. Throughout the past five years, I've hired and trained some very talented local actors who are helping me create magic for children with my party business when I'm performing elsewhere. In addition to performing, I am also a professional wig stylist and make-up artist, and I am meticulous with park-accuracy in our costuming. My actors always have a handler who leads activities and coordinates with parents/event organizers. That way, the character can create magical moments and devote their complete attention to the kids. We would love to work with you and make your special day magical!

For parties, we bring a bluetooth speaker to play music for our sing-a-longs and dance parties. If you have a bluetooth sound system set up, we can connect to your system. If your party/event is outside, we ask that you provide a shady area for us. We do provide characters for indoor events during rainy weather but will need to work out logistics beforehand.
