Seamless, Elevated and Fun!!

We could not have asked for a better DJ for our son’s wedding. From the moment we arrived, the sound created the most perfect welcoming atmosphere.
The music progression was seamless. Cocktail hour was relaxed and upbeat, dinner had the right energy for conversation, and the transition to the dance floor felt natural and fun!
As an MC, Vlad was confident, clear, and perfectly paced. Announcements were smooth and well timed, keeping everything moving without ever feeling rushed.
Most importantly, he was personable and professional from start to finish. He even visited our venue beforehand, bringing the sweet owner donuts, that’s the thoughtful person he is!! They truly read the room all night and adjusted in real time, which kept the vibe flowing effortlessly. We are so grateful he was part of such an important day.

A Literal Powerhouse

MagiCali Entertainment was an absolute pleasure to work with for our charitable fundraiser at Rosie’s Dog Beach in Long Beach. They provided power, sound, and DJ services, and everything they touched felt professional, calm, and on-point, vibe-wise. Cano & Coho DJed for two hours during our six-hour event, and their set fit the vibe perfectly—uplifting, tasteful, and energizing without ever overpowering the purpose of the day.

What really stood out was how the MagiCali team handled challenges behind the scenes. When a last-minute floor plan change made the original setup location unworkable, they adapted instantly—relocating their sound system and power quickly and smoothly, with no stress or disruption to the event flow. Most guests had no idea anything had changed, which says a lot.

They also went above and beyond to support the rest of the production team. At one point, they helped another DJ get specialized equipment up and running, including installing software drivers on the fly, all without causing delays or drawing attention away from the event. If you’re looking for DJs who are not only great at music but also true partners in making an event run well, MagiCali delivers.

Vlad and Jon DJ'd my twin daughter's 18th birthday and graduation party. Music was amazing! From the initial contact to the end of the night great they displayed courteous and professional service. Great For Weddings!

MagiCali made our wedding in Palm Springs magical. The music programming felt thoughtful and personal all night, and they did an amazing job reading the room and keeping the energy flowing naturally. The sound quality, lighting, and overall presentation felt elevated without ever becoming cheesy or over-the-top. The disco ball was a vibe! ** Think of MagiCali as your general contractor for music and sound. **

If your event needs something simple and clean, we can do that. If it needs something more elaborate and high-production, we can do that too. Whether it involves special lighting, custom setups, or unconventional spaces, our role is to understand what you want to achieve and figure out how to make it happen at a price that fits your budget.

When you book MagiCali, you’re hiring Cano & Coho, a DJ and emcee duo who work together closely and stay engaged for the full duration of the event. One of us is always focused on music and energy, while the other is focused on flow, announcements, timing, coordination, and logistics. This allows the event to move smoothly without gaps, confusion, or awkward moments.

** More than just music. **

We manage the musical arc of the event from start to finish.

We guide transitions and key moments with clear, confident announcements, when called for.

We coordinate with planners, venues, and other vendors. For example, if your photographer needs a specific lighting look for key moments, we’ll program the lights to support that.

We adapt quickly when timelines shift or plans change.

We support special moments and production needs without disrupting flow.

If something unexpected comes up, we handle it quietly so guests never feel it.

Depending on the event, we can support or coordinate elements such as:

We arrive at least two hours before the event start time. Sometimes we’ll set up the day before if the event calls for rehearsals or added complexity.

All cables and wires are carefully routed and taped down for guest safety.

Equipment is laid out cleanly to avoid visual clutter.

We don’t brand our gear. We believe self-promotion should never come before the needs of the planner or the look of the event.

We over-invest in sound system quality and tuning. Clean, balanced sound matters to us, and we’re proud of how our system performs compared to others in a similar price range.

Musically, we read the room and support the moment. Sometimes that means keeping energy high on the dancefloor. Sometimes it means staying subtle and out of the way. We don’t rely on canned routines or gimmicks, and we don’t position ourselves as the center of attention. Our goal is to support the people in the room and the reason they gathered.

MagiCali Entertainment is a Southern California based DJ and MC duo performing as Cano & Coho. MagiCali is built around a simple idea. When the music is right, the party is right.

Our background spans live events, communications, and music. We have emceed corporate events with seven-figure budgets and thousands of attendees, and we have supported planners and hosts at weddings, corporate parties, community gatherings, house parties, pool parties, and family celebrations. We prepare thoroughly, communicate clearly, and stay calm when things get hectic. Planners trust us because we make their jobs easier.

We are especially proud of our impact on the people who attend our events. We do not just play music at weddings. We help couples form core memories. As the team responsible for the soundsystem and the tunes played on it, we use music in service of emotion and shared experience.

Clients regularly trust us with more than just playlists. We guide the flow of events, make announcements clearly, support other vendors, and adapt in real time. If an event calls for a teleprompter, we can make that happen. If it calls for a disco ball to be lit at a key moment in a climactic shower of light, we can handle that too. MagiCali Entertainment provides our own professional DJ and sound equipment and is accustomed to working in a wide range of environments, including indoor venues, outdoor spaces, private homes, and non-traditional locations. We've done our thing at Burning Man, and we've done our thing on a boat. We can make it work almost anywhere...

### Power

* Standard setups typically require **one dedicated 120V outlet** within reasonable distance of the performance area.
* For larger setups or outdoor events, we may require additional power or provide **off-grid power solutions** when venue power is unavailable or unreliable.
* We confirm all power requirements in advance so there are no surprises on event day.

### Space

* We typically require a **small, clearly defined setup area** appropriate for the scale of the event.
* Our setups are designed to be clean and unobtrusive, with careful cable routing and minimal visual clutter.
* We’re happy to coordinate placement with planners and venues to ensure the setup works with the room layout, sight lines, and guest flow.

### Sound

* We bring and operate our own **high-quality sound system**, sized appropriately for the space and guest count. We can use venue sound or alternate soundsystems as required.
* Sound levels are set to balance clarity, energy, and guest comfort.
* We’re experienced working with venue sound restrictions, volume limits, neighborhood considerations, and sound curfews. For example, we can run bass speakers in "cardiod mode" to minimize neighborhood complaints.

### Lighting

* Lighting needs vary by event. We can provide anything from subtle ambient lighting to dancefloor-focused or statement lighting moments.
* If lighting is provided by a venue or third party, we’re happy to coordinate timing and cues to support key moments in the event.
* Lighting plans are discussed in advance to ensure they align with the look and feel you want.

### Microphones and presentations

* We provide microphones for announcements, ceremonies, toasts, panels, or presentations as needed.
* We can support teleprompters, presentation audio, and speaker transitions when required.
* All microphone needs are reviewed ahead of time to ensure coverage and clarity.

### Setup and timing

* We arrive **a minimum of two hours before** the event start time to allow for setup, testing, and coordination.
* For complex events, rehearsals, or multi-space layouts, we may recommend earlier or prior-day setup.
* We coordinate closely with planners, venues, and vendors to ensure smooth load-in and load-out.

### Safety and professionalism

* All cables are carefully routed and taped down to ensure guest safety.

We don’t use a fixed set list. We build playlists around the event brief and adjust them in real time based on the room.

Every event calls for different sounds. A wedding ceremony, a corporate dinner, a kids’ birthday party, and a late-night dancefloor all ask for different musical choices. Our job is to understand the purpose of the event, the audience in the room, and the moments that matter, then select music that supports those goals.

Depending on the event, that can include:

Pop and radio-friendly Top 40, including kid-safe clean edits when needed
Bhangra and South Asian dance music
EDM and pop-EDM
Reggaeton and Latin pop
Disco, funk, and classic dance music
House, techno, and underground dance music
Balearic, downtempo, and sunset-style selections
Hip-hop and R&B, tailored to the audience and setting

We’re comfortable shifting styles throughout an event. Music can start subtle, become celebratory, and then turn into a full dancefloor experience as the night unfolds. We don’t rely on pre-recorded mixes or locked playlists, and we don’t force a genre that doesn’t fit the moment.

Before the event, we work with you to understand must-plays, do-not-plays, cultural considerations, and overall vibe. During the event, we read the room and make adjustments so the music feels natural rather than programmed.

If you’re not sure what styles will work best yet, that’s completely fine. We’ll help you shape a musical direction that fits your guests, your space, and the tone you want to set.
