Mystery, magic, and a little mayhem! I love entertaining others. I love baffling people with more than just card tricks. My magic is family friendly, but it is not kids magic. Much of my show is "mentalism," as in mind reading. This is best suited for mature audiences as it can be intellectually stimulating. Additionally, I create many of the effects I perform, as I do a lot of celebrity or movie related magic (as opposed to traditional card magic). Audience participation is a major part of my show, but I try to never embarrass my helpers. My shows are about putting a smile on my guests' faces. I want to see you mystified and entertained.
My shows start off quick with strong effects that quickly prove I might have a lot "up my sleeve!" I like to typically start off with some of the better-known traditional magic, maybe a little card magic, and then grow into the greater mysterious magic that leaves people amazed and scratching their heads!
I am proud of the fact that much of my show is unique to me. I perform effects inspired by others but formally fleshed out by my own mind and skillset. It's like making a cake or baking cookies. Everyone knows the basic recipe, but I use ingredients not always expected ... ingredients that will pleasantly surprise you and your guests ... making you want more and more!
I'll let you in on a little secret. I don't like all magic! If I can figure it out, then I don't want to perform it. If the effect didn't baffle me, if it something I can figure out, then I can't perform it. I only perform the effects that made me smile, scratch my head, and leave me thirsty to know how it is done! Those are the effects I love to perform. The effects don't have to be huge in size, but they must be hugely impactful!
Aloha,
After nearly 40 years working in the corporate world, I finally woke up and realized I'm happier working for myself! I'm the best boss I've ever had! As my own boss I let myself travel a lot. I'm constantly meeting new and interesting people AND I often entertain and help people relax and laugh with MAGIC! This is like a dream come true!
So that you know, I have been performing magic my entire life, but now that I am no longer handcuffed to a 60+ hour a week job, I am pursuing Mystery, Magic, and Mayhem on a much more regular basis! I perform regularly for adult birthdays and corporate shows.
When I am not entertaining, I spend much of my time with family and pursuing other interests. I am also an avid photographer and world traveler. My wife and I have two grandkids. My daughter lives out of state and my son lives nearby. I grew up in Federal Way and have lived in Washington most of my life. When I am not performing magic, I am insulting ... I mean consulting! (Same thing really!) When I was a corporation manager, I became adept at energy management. Now that I have "technically" retired I sometimes consult and help companies become greener and much more energy efficient. So, yes, I am a consultant, but I prefer "insultant" as I am sometimes well paid telling others what they are doing wrong!
If required, I have and can bring my own PA speaker and microphone.
I will have attended the Mystery School of Magic in Las Vegas for three years this October. I am a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
Lighting and ideally a sound system, but I can bring a sufficient PA system
