"I could have listened to you for hours!" - Alison King, Penn Wynne Library
Traditional folk tunes, storytelling, and sing-alongs. Developed specifically for children ages 2-6, but enjoyed by all ages, Maggie's fun, engaging programs reinforce concepts such as beat, rhythm, visual literacy, and kindness to children while introducing them to the rich musical heritage of our country.
Maggie also performs locally as singer/songwriter, Maggie Pope, and with her band, Under the Oak. The World Cafe Live and The Sellersville Theater are just a few of the venues where she has entertained audiences with her simple melodies and heartfelt lyrics.
Maggie is a joy to your ears, she is a sweet soul with a soothing voice and her original songs are all about the beauty that can be found in everyday life. She relates so well to all age groups and has a genuine and personable stage presence. You just can’t help but tap your foot, sing along, and smile in your heart when you listen to her perform. She’s a one of a kind talent!!!
Response from Maggie Pope - All Ages Folk Music.:
Thank you, Carol! It's always so nice when I am lucky enough to see you at a show! Hopefully we'll see you again soon!
I have had the privilege to see Maggie Pope perform as both a solo performer, and as a member of her band, Under The Oak. What really struck me, when I first saw her perform, was the way her emotions project in her performance. You know that you are seeing her soul, when you hear her music. She has the voice of an angel, and her talent for finding the exact words to touch her listener’s hearts and souls is amazing. She is one of those performers who’s songs can make you tear up, or want to lose yourself in laughter. I have also seen her perform her songs written for children, and the truth is that those songs are no less wonderful to hear as an adult. I truly hope to have a chance to see her perform again soon.
Response from Maggie Pope - All Ages Folk Music.:
You are very kind, Howard - thank you! 💙🎶
I had the pleasure of attending a Maggie Pope performance she was hired to play at the home of a friend. First and foremost, lemme tell you - she's one heck of a performer and one heck of a songwriter. But mores, she ENGAGED the audience - adults and children alike. Mostly Highly Recommended - you simply cannot go wrong hiring Maggie Pope. Thanks!!!!
Response from Maggie Pope - All Ages Folk Music.:
Kurt - thank you so much. House concerts are always a blast! I very much appreciate your sweet words :)
We have seen several events where Maggie has performed.....as a singer/songwriter, both solo and with her band Under The Oak, her music is filled with beautiful, thought-provoking lyrics. As the music fills the room, you are transformed, taken away from your every day woes and busy life agenda, and you begin to relax, and remember what it is like to be a part of something happy and special. Her love for children's music runs deep within her, and the children love listening to her story-telling, providing some history to the traditional children's songs that she plays, while the they surround her and dance and sing along. We had the distinct pleasure of having her come to our home for a show, and the audience fell in love. We highly recommend her for any event where you are considering live music.
Response from Maggie Pope - All Ages Folk Music.:
Thank you, Dom. I appreciate your support and kind words, and I always look forward to seeing you at shows! Until next time!
We have been lucky enough to be able to have Maggie perform at a house concert we hosted. She is such a genuine person and her music touches everyone with her honest lyrics. She was so well received
and after many requests from those that came, we have booked her for the early summer to do a return show.
We have also seen her do children shows and her magic shines just as strongly there. She has a way of engaging the young - getting them to sing along, clap and dance.
I highly recommend her for any of your musical needs. You won't be disappointed.
Response from Maggie Pope - All Ages Folk Music.:
Sharon - it's always a pleasure. Thank you for your kind review. Can't wait for the next house concert!

Thanks so much for your interest in my folk music programs! During the booking process, we can talk about your specific and unique needs, but it's helpful to know what the "average" program looks like.
Here's the scoop:
Typically, I'll arrive (on time!) about 30 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled program. If we decided during the booking process that a PA system will be necessary, I'll need to arrive 45 min - 1 hour prior.
Most of my programs are geared toward the early childhood crowd - usually ages 2 to 6, and are ideal for groups of up to about 20 children. Libraries, schools, and community events are the perfect settings! Programs of this nature are 45 minutes long and are enjoyable for both the children and adults in attendance - hence the "all ages folk music" line... this type of music was built to be enjoyed by people of all ages!
I also do birthday parties and other events! And also house concerts and private parties in my singer-songwriter role (visit (link hidden) or search "Maggie Pope" on Spotify). Please reach out for more information about either the children's music or singer-songwriter/house concerts!
History through Song.
Our humanity, our similarities, our struggles, and our triumphs are echoed in its melodies... often giving us glimpses into the lives of those who penned the lyrics. Song is an avenue with which we celebrate the present, dream of the future, and connect with the past.
Maggie's love for education came prior to when her children were born, when she worked as the Academic Programs Coordinator for the NJ Academy for Aquatic Sciences. Here, she learned the importance of creating programs that students and teachers would not only enjoy, but that would also fit into their curriculum nicely and provide a valuable and fun learning experience.
Now the mother of four young children, Maggie has since come to fully appreciate the beautiful connection children have to music. The hours spent at home with her kids gave her time to hone her skills, to share music with her children and her friends, and to dig deep into the folk tradition. Now she combines her love of children, education, and folk music to offer a unique experience that both children and adults love!
Maggie can also be found performing locally in Southeastern Pennsylvania as singer/songwriter, Maggie Pope, and with her band, Under the Oak. The World Cafe Live, The Ardmore Music Hall, and The Sellersville Theater are just a few of the venues where she has entertained audiences with her simple melodies and heartfelt lyrics.
What about sound/PA systems?
Some programs for smaller groups do not require a sound system at all, and make for a fabulous and intimate program for our youngest groups. During the booking process, we will discuss sound requirements, group size, room size and other details about the program. If necessary, Maggie will bring along a portable PA system. The only requirement on your end here is to ensure there is an electrical outlet nearby!
