About
Nominated for:
Artist of The Year, Josie Music Awards, Nashville 2017
Best Local Artist, Indie Ogden Awards, 2015
Best Pop Album, San Diego Music Awards, Seaholm Mackintosh "Monarchs," 2011
Madame Mackintosh is known for Hosting and creating The Spice Of Life Variety Show with special guest artists. She's a full-time mother, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, artist and natural born singer, born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her mother claims she's been singing since the day she was born and her father taught her to play the piano as soon as she could reach the keys. She began began picking guitar and writing songs at the age of 15.
At 25, she quit her job, packed all she could into her car, including two guitars, her dog and her cat and followed the I-15 to begin her lifelong dream in San Diego, CA.
After a year of submerging herself deep in the San Diego Songwriter's scene, she released her debut album, "Blue Skies Await," under the name, Brooklyn with Producer, Sven-Erik Seaholm. It wasn't long before she became an established singer-songwriter, and a live, local music promoter & show producer with weekly residencies in the Gaslamp Quarter and Pacific Beach.
For years, her show, "Brooklyn & Friends," was supported by local celebrities, promoted by local TV shows and news stations, and her song, "Believe" was placed in a local MyTV13 show, which aired every week.
In 2008, "Blue Skies Await" producer, Sven-Erik Seaholm invited Brooke to join his his band, The Wild Truth, and eventually the two separated from the band to become the duo, Seaholm Mackintosh.
During the Recession, Brooke took a 5 month hiatus from the duo and moved back home to Utah, where she began planting seeds in the local music scene. In 2010, she moved back to San Diego, into Sven's home studio, aptly named, "Kitsch & Sync Production," and began working on their album, Monarchs, which was released in 2011, the year their son was born and quickly received an SDMA nomination for best pop album.
They performed and worked as a team on multiple projects in his home studio, including a musical theater project, "Time & Away" featuring recreated versions of songs off their album. They also collaborated with artist and friend, Nisha Catron, for a dance-lounge album, called "STLA" (released in 2013).
A year before STLA's release, the duo seperated and Brooke, along with her 2 year old son, returned to her roots, heading the call of family and the majestic Rocky mountains.
Quick to reap from seeds she'd sown a few years earlier, she was welcomed to the music scene successfully, establishing herself with multiple residencies in Ogden, Layton, Salt Lake City and Park City and created a show which she shares with Special Guests Artists, called "Madame Mackintosh's Spice Of Life Show."
Since Brooke began her musical journey, she has shared the bill with renowned artists, such as Eagles Hit songwriter, Jack Tempchin, "You Were Meant For Me" Co-Songwriter, and touring artist, Steve Poltz, Nashville artist and songwriter, Erin McCarley, Grammy Award Winning Songwriter, Monty Powell, Lumineers Guitarist, Maxwell Hughes, Jason Mraz Produced, Gregory Page, Musician & Hollywood Actor, Brad Carter, Django Soundtrack Artist, Brother Dredge and
Teen Folk Sensation, Sammy Brue, to name a few.
She's performed the National Anthem for many motorsports races such as the first Utah NASCAR race, (Nationally televised with over 10,000 in attendance.). She has since performed for hundreds of venues, fine dining establishment, festivals and corporate events in the Western U.S. and toured The Netherlands in the U.K. in 2022. Some include: The Union, The Belly Up, Humphreys By The Bay, Prestigious Ski Resorts, San Diego Fair, La Jolla Art & Wine Festival, OFOAM Ogden Music Festival, The Sundance Film Festival and Park City's First ever Songwriters Festival, etc.
Jumping into other sides of the Entertainment industry, she's worked behind the scenes on Yellowstone, One Big Happy Family and Joe Bell as a stand-in/background actress.
She is currently a full-time musician, reading tarot and palmistry on the side and writing everything from songs to screen plays and poetry, teaching herself how to produce her long awaited Sophomore album and loves performing and traveling with her son as her roadie/sidekick.
Not easily pigeon-holed, Brooke's music is Soulful and poetic. She calls it "Indie Acoustic Mountain Soul".
