I am an experienced vocalist with featured performances at the Warner Theater, Penn State University, the Smithsonian Museum, the Spirit of Washington Cruise ship, and more. I am also a National Award-winning vocalist interviewed by Good Morning America (2001). My set list includes a wide variety of songs due to many years playing with agency bands in the Washington, DC area. This allows me to be very versatile. My roster of musicians can cover almost any style of music. I can put together a jazz band, country band, pop/top40 band, or a classic rock band specifically tailored for your event.

My jazz set has the perfect mix of standards and Bossa style finger snappers that set the mood. It's the perfect entertainment for an elegant evening or dining experience. My lineup includes favorites from Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Eva Cassidy, and Norah Jones.
If you want a shorter "entertainment showcase", I tailor my Jazz show to engage the audience with heartwarming and educational jazz stories that bring to life the artists and the songs. This showcase can be anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Good for evening entertainment at corporate events, awards ceremonies, etc.
My acoustic set is perfect for family style restaurants, private parties, or outdoor events where you want your guests to get up and dance but still enjoy good conversations. I keep the mood fun and happy and the music level engaging and conversational. All this with a fine tuned line up of pop favorites from the 90's to today with hits from Sheryl Crowe, Jewel, Faith Hill, Miley Cyrus, Adele, Billie Eilish, and more.
Lyssa is from Northern Virginia where she grew up performing in musical theater. She began writing in her early teens and formed an original band and performed in local coffee shops in Fairfax and Loudoun County. In the early 90's, she started singing in jazz bands, agency dance bands, and supper clubs in the DC/Maryland where she gained recognition in the community. She was invited to be the opening performance at the prestigious Warner Theater in Washington, DC where she performed "A Piece of Sky" from the movie "Yentle". She received a standing ovation and raving reviews which sparked a string of performances in the DC metro area.
In 2001, Lyssa won a National vocal competition. She was one of 30,000 competitors across the US and Canada. She competed for five consecutive nights, competing with songs by Whitney Houston and taking home the trophy with her final performance of "A Piece of Sky" by Barbara Streisand. She won 1st place in the Female Vocalist category and was interviewed by Good Morning America.
In 2011, she recorded background vocals for Christian recording artist, Paul Baloche, on his album entitled "Same Love". She has also written several songs which she is in the process of producing.
For the last 10 years, Lyssa has been raising 3 amazingly talented kids who are all musicians. She has served as worship director, worship vocalist at CCV, choral director, and middle school music teacher.
Today, Lyssa returns to her first love, singing.
