What to expect

When you hire Luxoreum Photo Video, you can expect attentive, flexible photography and video coverage built around your event rather than a one-size-fits-all package.

Before the event, I’ll work with you to understand what matters most: the schedule, key people, important moments, special activities, and the photographs or video you particularly want captured. During the event, I work unobtrusively whenever possible, looking for natural expressions, interactions, atmosphere, movement, and details while also creating organized photographs or interviews when appropriate.

Coverage can include candid and posed photography, event and performance video, interviews, speakers and presentations, behind-the-scenes moments, venue and detail photography, promotional imagery, and short-form video suitable for websites and social media. Photography and video can also be combined when an event calls for both.

I’m comfortable adapting as an event changes. If something interesting happens that wasn’t on the schedule, I’m going to notice it and, whenever possible, capture it. At the same time, I pay attention to the planned moments so the things you hired me to document don’t get missed.

Afterward, I review and organize the material and provide selected, professionally prepared photographs and/or edited video according to the needs of the project. For organizations and businesses, I also keep future use in mind so the resulting media can be useful for promotion, websites, social media, publicity, and archives—not simply viewed once and forgotten.

Most importantly, you can expect someone who takes the assignment seriously while remaining easy to work with. My job is to let you concentrate on your event while I concentrate on preserving what makes it worth remembering.

About

Charles Baldwin is the photographer and filmmaker behind Luxoreum Photo Video, bringing decades of visual-media experience to events, performances, celebrations, businesses, and special projects.

Charles approaches photography and video as more than simply documenting what happened. His goal is to capture the atmosphere of an event—the people, expressions, movement, details, and unexpected moments that give it character. He is equally comfortable working quietly in the background for candid coverage or coordinating with organizers and participants when a more structured shot is needed.

His experience spans event photography and videography, live performances, aviation events, community celebrations, tourism and destination imagery, product photography, promotional content, interviews, and independent filmmaking. His work has included everything from intimate local events to credentialed aviation coverage and large-scale photographic production.

Charles is also the creator of Mysterious – A Visual Symphony, a feature-length, dialogue-free independent film built around cinematography, music, movement, and natural environments. The project reflects the same approach he brings to client work: look carefully, find what makes the subject interesting, and create images that people will want to experience again.

Based in New York’s Southern Tier and Finger Lakes region, Charles is available for projects throughout the region and will travel farther for the right assignment. Through Luxoreum Photo Video, he offers a flexible, thoughtful approach tailored to each event rather than trying to force every client into the same package.

Whether the assignment calls for still photography, video, or a combination of both, the objective is straightforward: create strong visual memories and useful finished media while making the experience comfortable and enjoyable for the people involved.

Additional booking notes

Most photography and video assignments require very little from the client. I normally arrive with the cameras and production equipment needed for the agreed coverage and can work with available light and existing event conditions whenever practical.

For indoor or low-light assignments, access to standard electrical power may be helpful for lighting, charging, or other equipment. If dedicated lighting, staged interviews, live streaming, amplified sound, or other specialized production is requested, those requirements can be discussed in advance.

For video involving speeches, interviews, music, or performances, access to the venue’s sound system or audio feed is helpful when available. If that is not possible, I can discuss appropriate independent audio options before the event.

For best results, I ask clients to provide in advance:

Event location, date, and expected coverage hours
Schedule or program, including important moments that should not be missed
Any venue photography/video restrictions
A primary on-site contact
Advance notice of special requests, interviews, live streaming, or unusual lighting/audio conditions
Reasonable access to the areas where coverage is expected

Outdoor assignments are weather dependent. If severe weather could affect the safety of people or equipment, we can discuss alternate locations, shelter, schedule adjustments, or rescheduling when appropriate.

Requirements vary considerably from a small gathering to a large public event, so I prefer to discuss unusual technical needs beforehand. If your event has a special situation, just describe what you’re planning and we can determine what is needed.

Influences and inspiration

My influences come from photography, cinema, television, music, and the natural world. I’m drawn to filmmakers and visual storytellers who use composition, movement, light, timing, and sound to create an experience rather than simply record an image.

I have been influenced by the visual imagination of filmmakers such as Stanley Kubrick, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Francis Ford Coppola, as well as the independent filmmaking tradition represented by Roger Corman, where ingenuity and resourcefulness often matter more than enormous budgets.

Music is also an important influence on the way I see and edit images. I often think about rhythm, pacing, contrast, and movement while photographing or filming. That approach became particularly important in creating my feature-length, dialogue-free film, Mysterious – A Visual Symphony, where music and imagery carry the experience rather than conventional dialogue.

Just as important are the influences I encounter directly: changing light, landscapes, architecture, aviation, live performance, people interacting naturally, and those unexpected moments at an event that could never have been planned in advance.

Ultimately, my strongest influence is the idea that photography and film should make you notice something you might otherwise have passed by.
