Overview

Hi!
My name is Luke Vajsar. I'm a solo bassist from Toronto. I consider my music to be atmospheric, original, melodic & groovy. I have played parties, art galleries, festivals and a huge number of bars and venues. I play original music that works as perfect background to people hanging out and having a good time. I have been told before that people picture themselves in a Tarantino movie while listening to me play live. Quick and easy set up. If you want a party with cool atmosphere filled with very unique musicianship then check my music out and get in touch! Some events played: Alo Salon, Sheraton Hotel, Chandni Banquet Hall, TD Jazz Festival, and many more.

A wonderful addition to our Toronto dinner event!

Our team was thrilled to have Luke play for an intimate 2-hour business dinner of about 20 people last Thursday in Yorkville! Luke exhibited excellent communication and a fantastic sense of professionalism throughout the entire booking process as well as through the the day of the event, with his musical stylings providing the perfect ambiance for our group. We would not hesitate to recommend Luke to anyone seeking a fabulous and talented musician in Toronto. Thanks so much again, Luke!!! We are so grateful for the seamless experience with you and look forward to keeping in touch for another collaboration in the future! :)

What to expect

Amazing atmosphere, that people can talk over and have a good time. Melodic, jazzy sound perfect to a soundtrack. I play original music so it would add to the party's uniqueness. I set up quick, I'm easy to deal with, I just want to play and show off my solo bass music and have a good time.

About

Luke Vajsar was born in Prague, Czech Republic on May 17, 1979. In 1989 he immigrated to Hamilton, Canada with his brother and parents. When he was given the opportunity to play music at the age of 10 in elementary school, he immediately became very interested. Even though he selected bass as his instrument he was given the trombone by his teacher and developed his skills on the instrument to a level where he was an important part in the best of big bands in his city and neighboring regions; winning national and provincial awards through to 1999. Also, he began playing guitar at this time and kept playing till finally he got his hands on a bass at the age of 13. He transferred his guitar skills to bass playing and became involved with many bands and musicians from his neighborhood. Throughout this time he became inspired to perform solo as well. Solo bass performances led to the recording of ten solo bass albums. Luke is now a full-time member of a band named CODEX and is constantly performing solo or with guests. Performances include countless amount of bars, Toronto Jazz Festival, art galleries etc. He now lives in Toronto Ontario where he has secured a group of musician contacts and fans that push each other to constantly perform and develop their skills to the highest degree.
