Overview

Llewchi is the coming together of two well-seasoned jazz musicians, saxophonist Dave Llewellyn, and guitarist Yewchi Takata. Originally hailing from Australia and Japan, their adventurous spirits led them both to Vancouver. Having first played together in the Vancouver big band scene and alongside Juno winner & Grammy nominee, Gabriel Mark Hasselbach, they soon found a natural affinity and compatibility, leading them to play as a duo. Sharing eclectic backgrounds, but wanting to bring their love of jazz standards to a live audience, they can be found performing around the greater Vancouver area, always bringing a sense of joy and excitement from playing the music they love.
