Live Typewriter Poet

I’m run a music booking company called Road Dog Booking, and often host events. Last summer, Shy came to our mini backyard festival in Highland Park and was an absolute hit! She wore the cutest outfit and brought an adorable typewriter. Guests loved her! A few cried (happy tears!) and several contacted me later to tell me they had framed their poems once they got home. At some points, I looked over to see a line of 10+! Word spread quick about her. She was also so professional. Responded to all emails in a timely manner, arrived 30 minutes earlier than I asked, and even offered to help set up other components of the event (to which I said no!). An absolute delight to work with. I will 100% book her again!!!!

Having a typewriter poet at my 50th birthday party was such a treat! Everyone loved sitting down for a little chat with Shy and watching their poems come to life. There was plenty of laughter and even a few real heart-to-hearts. We all had something lovely and personal to take home, which felt so much more special than a typical party favor. Such a warm, talented person and a wonderful addition to the evening. I’m so glad I booked!

We hired Shy for a company holiday party last year and could not have been happier. She came showed up with miniature stockings to roll the poems into along with candy canes, something we never would have even thought of. If she hadn’t moved to California, we would absolutely hire her again this year. Our employees loved her and have asked if she will be coming back again! The poems made their way into Christmas ornaments and stockings at home (several employees asked for poems to be written for their spouses and kids). Overall, she was the hit of our holiday party.
