Audiences can expect me to bring authenticity, empowerment, and transformational insight to every stage I step on. Whether I'm keynoting a conference or leading a hands-on student workshop, here’s what audiences will see and hear:
🔹 Real Stories, Real Impact
I speak openly about my journey as a woman who stutters and a former school administrator who led through uncertainty—especially during the pandemic. My lived experience grounds my message in truth, vulnerability, and strength.
🔹 The L.E.A.D.E.R. Framework in Action
I introduce my original 6-step framework—Leverage, Empower, Advocate, Defy, Elevate, Resonate—that helps students and professionals alike unlock their leadership potential without needing to be “perfect” first.
🔹 Interactive, Thought-Provoking Engagement
Expect dynamic activities like identity mapping, story swaps, leadership scenario roleplays, and reflection prompts that spark personal breakthroughs and group connection.
🔹 A New Definition of Leadership
My talks reframe leadership as something built on lived experience, not just credentials. Audiences walk away with tools to lead with confidence, advocate for inclusion, and redefine what power and presence truly look like.
🔹 A Voice That Gives Others Permission
Through my courage in speaking openly as a person who stutters, I create space for others to embrace their voice, especially those who’ve been overlooked, underestimated, or unsure if they belong.
Have you ever felt like your disability was holding you back from reaching your full potential? Do you worry that revealing your challenges might make others doubt your abilities? Are you ready to stop hiding and step into your authentic power as a leader?
Meet Dr. Saundra Russell-Smith, a dynamic speaker, author, and former school administrator who turned her lifelong stutter into a powerful tool for leadership and change. As the founder of Limitless Leaders LLC and author of Limitless Leaders: Leading Beyond Your Disability, Dr. Saundra helps students and professionals redefine what leadership looks like—centered in confidence, authenticity, and lived experience. Through her signature L.E.A.D.E.R. Framework, she empowers others to lead boldly, embrace their differences, and use their voices—no matter how they sound—to create lasting impact.
AUDIO: Please provide a quality sound system that has been tested for proper operation. Microphone preferences are a lapel or a cordless, handheld microphone, if available. If not, the microphone should allow for at least 30 feet of cord.
SEATING: Please sit the audience directly in front of Dr. Saundra in a theater-style setting. No seating behind or to the sides of Dr. Saundra while she speaks. If Dr. Saundra is speaking at a school, she prefers to have the assembly in an auditorium. If a gymnasium is the only option, sit students only on one side with the remainder on the gym floor or contact us to discuss other options. The audience should be seated as close to the stage as possible.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: In the event Dr. Saundra would like to make use of any special equipment, such as video, computer (PowerPoint), etc., please provide a small table for the computer and a hand-held device to move through slides if necessary. We will give you ample notification to enable you to make the appropriate arrangements.
STAGE / LIGHTS: Dr. Saundra prefers a well-lit stage that is open and empty. A podium is not necessary.
Please leave the house lights on enough so that Dr. Saundra can see the audience from the stage.
RESOURCE TABLE: Please put a table beside the exit of the room so Dr. Saundra can share resources and autograph merchandise for your group. There should be a 15-minute break immediately after Dr. Saundra’s speech in which she can interact with audience members, sign autographs, take photos, etc.
Women who stutter make up about .20%(less than 1%) of the world's population. Women of color who stutter make up even less than that. As a black woman who stutters, I was invisible in the public speaking space because I used to be ashamed of my voice, believing that no one wanted to hear me, and my voice didn't have value. Once I owned my stutter, thanks to the support of the National Stuttering Association (NSA), I speak loud and proud for the voices of people who stutter. Many people who stutter never hear their voices from a stage, screen, or podium—especially not from someone who looks like them. That absence deeply influenced my mission. I realized that my silence wasn’t just personal—it was systemic. Now, I speak not just for myself, but to be what I never saw: a bold, visible, Black woman who stutters and leads unapologetically. Through my voice, I aim to empower others to stop hiding and start leading.
