Meet yellowbirddd - the solo project from LA bass player (Allison Weiss, Psychic Love, Future Feats) and Berklee College of Music-trained Liam McCormack. Beginning in 2010, yellowbirddd has self-released four full length records, crisscrossed the country DIY touring in a soccer mom minivan, hustled and made records in apartments in almost all of the major US cities, perfecting his visceral lyrics and vulnerable narration with every passing year. Daydreaming in the Los Angeles sunshine, for almost 4 years now, McCormack is now set to release the new yellowbirddd EP, You’re Already In Paradise.
yellowbirddd has been jokingly called “gentlecore” by McCormack’s close friends; due to the often soft, mellow nature of McCormack’s orchestrations. Growing up on his dad’s Neil Young records, and later finding himself in the crafted songwriting and introspection of early emo bands; McCormack also has his moments of frustration and angst, a pattern seen throughout his recorded catalog.
A fan favorite from his 2014 CENTINELA record, “Working Through It”, has been featured on numerous official Spotify playlists, racking up 600k+ plays. In the winter of 2016, yellowbirddd also gained traction while completing a UK tour opening for acclaimed songwriters Allison Weiss and Jenny Owen Youngs.
