What to expect

When you hire me, you can expect a bassist who comes prepared, shows up on time, and gives his best every time. I take time to learn the music, support the artist, and help the band sound great.

My goal is not to stand out by myself, but to help the whole band shine. I believe great music happens when everyone works together, and I enjoy being a team player on and off the stage.

Whether it’s a church service, concert, festival, recording session, private event, or tour, you’ll get someone who is dependable, easy to work with, and ready to serve the music. I play with heart, energy, and professionalism while helping create an experience people will enjoy and remember.

If you’re looking for a bassist who loves music, respects people, and brings a positive attitude to every rehearsal and performance, I’d be honored to be part of your team.

About

Hi! I’m a bass player from the Mississippi Delta, and I love making great music with great people. I’ve been playing for over 20 years and have had the chance to perform with churches, bands, schools, and the U.S. Army Bands. Every time I play, my goal is to help the music sound its best.

I enjoy playing many styles of music, including gospel, praise and worship, R&B, soul, funk, jazz, and more. Whether it’s a church service, concert, festival, recording session, or tour, I come ready to learn, work hard, and support the artist’s vision.

People know me for being dependable, easy to work with, and prepared. I believe every performance matters, no matter how big or small the stage is. I enjoy working with others and helping create moments that people will remember.

If you’re looking for a bassist who loves music, values teamwork, and gives his best every time, I’d be honored to play with you. I look forward to the chance to work together and help bring your music to life.

Additional booking notes

I can perform with my own bass guitar and basic equipment, or I can use provided backline gear if available.

For the best experience, I recommend:

* A bass amplifier or direct (DI) connection to the venue’s sound system.
* A standard power outlet near my performance area (if needed).
* Enough stage space to perform comfortably with the band.
* A sound check before the performance whenever possible.

I arrive early, come prepared, and communicate well with artists, music directors, and event staff. I can learn music ahead of time if charts, recordings, or set lists are provided before the event.

I’m available for church services, concerts, festivals, private events, recording sessions, rehearsals, and touring opportunities. My goal is to make the performance smooth, professional, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Influences and inspiration

My playing has been shaped by many great musicians and styles over the years. Growing up in the Mississippi Delta, I was surrounded by gospel, blues, soul, and R&B, and those sounds are still a big part of who I am today.

Some of my biggest musical influences include Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, Kirk Franklin, Marcus Miller, Nathan East, Victor Wooten, Sharay Reed, and Larry “Flex” Williams, and a host of quartet bass players. I also enjoy the music of The Temptations, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Jacksons, Stevie Wonder, and many other artists who have inspired generations of musicians.

I believe every musician can learn something from others, so I continue to grow by listening, studying, and playing different styles of music. My goal is to honor the song, support the artist, and help create music that connects with people.

Setup requirements

Anything but Markbass. I can work with it, but prefer not to.
