Lauren Shell

I perform cover songs and write and record my own pop music. I have sat in with jazz bands in New York, a regular at Sid Gold’s Request Room (singing with live piano accompaniment), and have sung at retirement communities and nursing homes in Florida as my dad accompanies me on the piano.

My father had written songs for my sisters and me when we were younger. My mom joined on the tambourine. We recorded original children’s music and donated part of the proceeds of our album sales to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, local children’s hospitals, and cancer research.

We performed our originals at the South Florida music festival “SunFest” three times and were featured on local news and radio. A radio station played one of our songs that we recorded with a friend promoting peace and anti-violence.

My sisters and I sang for Major League Baseball three times and performed for former General Colin Powell, a former Miss America, and the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce. We entertained for charities like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, America’s Promise, and many others.

When I was 7, I was selected with my sister to perform for Marvin Hamlisch for a charity he was supporting, and after our duet, Mr. Hamlisch hugged and thanked us. Here was this Broadway legend who had written hit songs for people around the world, and he was thanking us!
