As a solo performer, I play a wide variety of cover songs (and originals if appropriate) accompanying myself with keyboard and/or guitar. For duo performances, I add another guitarist for a little more energy. Typical solo performances can last last 1-4 hours with a few breaks (one 10 minute break for 2 hours, two 10 minute breaks for 3, etc.) Duo, trio, and band performances can run up to 3 hours, also with breaks worked in.
You might recognize Lauren from Season 19 of NBC's "The Voice", where she made it to the Knockout Rounds on Teams Gwen and Legend, or lately, from her feature in NPR Music's Tiny Desk 'Top Shelf'! Her vocals are frequently compared to that of Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell, and Amy Winehouse, and while she performs a wide variety of covers, there’s a large number of original songs to go with it.
If you are able to provide sound equipment- amazing! However, it’s not required and I’m always happy to bring my own set up. The only provisions I need are a stool, a power strip, and an extension chord. And for outdoor events, a tent or awning is greatly appreciated.
