Usually we start off with some Brazilian Bossa-Novas to get people used to the sound of Live Music. We of course look for a nod from Event planner to make sure our band volume is suitable for the venue. Later on in the evening, some guests take to the dance floor if appropriate, or not(!) and we wind up the Event that way with a few speeches in between. We are professional musicians, we show up early in our nicest suits or tropical shirts, as you wish. BRIEF BIO
Laurent was born and raised in Paris where he picked up the guitar at age 12. He moved to NYC in the Fall of 93. A year later, he recorded and co-produced his first Album with Gotham,7-piece Funk/Jazz Band and then toured the States and Europe, opening for Ramsey Lewis and James Moody.
After studying with Mike Stern and Wayne Krantz, he formed his own Jazz projects and released his Debut Album in 2002 on the British Label String Jazz "Circles, Live @ 55 Bar". His second release on Evander Music 'Diverses' features his compositions arranged for Strings and horns. Re-released in 2012 for the European continent.
Next release is a Live performance at Smalls in New York "Live in The Vlllage". In Paris, he leads the Medeljazz Quartet with two releases to date: a 4 title E.P. “Yesternow” and a full CD “Jacaranda Jazz”.
With their new album “Versature” Laurent composes and arranges all original tunes in a more modern light.
