January 1, 2026Professional and very personable.
Lady Joy Bell responded to my request for a gospel singer within minutes, even during the busy holiday season, to support my mother’s homegoing service. She traveled from Chicago to Milwaukee in the coldest and snowiest weather without hesitation. Lady Joy arrived early, came fully prepared, and carried herself with warmth and grace.
The two songs I requested were delivered with heartfelt precision, inspiration, and reverence. In those moments, I truly felt my mother’s spirit smiling.
Thank you, Lady Joy Bell, for lending your angelic voice to our family during this time of bereavement. Your presence was a blessing.
With deepest gratitude,
Allicia Rux

What to expect
When you book me for your event, you're not just getting a singer-you're inviting an experience filled with passion, soul, and heartfelt connection. Whether I'm singing a gospel classic, a smooth ballad, or a powerful patriotic song, I aim to touch every heart in the room. My voice is warm, expressive, and seasoned with the spirit - perfect for uplifting church services, inspiring special ceremonies, or adding soulful energy to community events, private celebrations, funerals and memorials.
Audiences can expect a professional, polished performance tailored to the occasion. I arrive on time, prepared and ready to deliver vocals that stir emotion and bring people together. I respect your vision and will work closely with you to ensure event runs smoothly. My style blends gospel roots with the soulful sounds of Motown, and even a touch of jazz and blues. Every song is thoughtfully selected with care and performed with love, whether it's a solo set or background ambiance for a more intimate gathering.
My wardrobe is always tasteful and appropriate for the event - whether elegant and formal for weddings, vibrant and expressive for fetivals, or modest and polished for church services. I believe presentation is an integral part of the performance and I aim to look as beautiful as the songs I deliver.
My performances are personal and interactive. I can incorporate call-and-response and sing-alongs, and moments of reflection or testimony when appropriate. I love connecting with the audience - not just performing to them, but with them.
More than anything, expect a joyful, engaging experience where the music speaks to the soul and leaves lasting memories for you and your guests.
About
God. Family. Singing. Dancing. Travel. My loves. In that order. Growing up in Chicago, I spent my days running around barefoot in the far south side community of Morgan Park. Singing and traveling with my musical family introduced me to my lifelong dream of being an international artist. The love of singing, acting, and dancing grew at Olivet Nazarene University where I began performing on stage for hundreds, even thousands, and continued through church, school, and community events. Okay yes, I am a pastor’s kid, born Joy Lewis to the most humble, gracious, nurturing parents any girl could dream of, in Claude and Barbara Lewis. A teacher and nurse by trade we lived comfortably and simply in a fun and creative household. Daddy was a jazz musician and army vet and Mommy was a spontaneous, impulsive dream pusher. My 5 siblings/best friends and I traveled all over the world without ever leaving our bedrooms. Our imaginations carried us to places I have been blessed to visit in my adult life. Joy Bell was my nick name and I literally would get into a little trouble for laughing too much and taking pride in making other people laugh.
I married my childhood friend, John Arrington, and for 30 years raised our lovely children, John Jr, Luke, Barbara, and Kaylynn. I have worn so many hats in my career from radio producer/newscaster, realtor, marketer, teacher, choir director, to fashion designer, crafter, musician, and children’s party entertainer. The death of my husband in 2020, propelled me to revisit my childhood dreams of traveling internationally and impacting the world, especially children, through song and dance. Relocating to Texas in the middle of the Pandemic, I went on a personal quest to spread so much joy and the love of Jesus, which has been my rock and superpower. I use my gifts of singing, face painting, and making balloon animals in a fun and exciting way to reach children and youth.
I believe there are so many organizations already doing a tremendous job in helping others, that I simply come alongside and partner with them to push their vision forward. In 2021, I traveled to the Dominican Republic, where I recorded my first single, “Still With You”, then spent 9 months in Ghana volunteering at schools and orphanages. Sprinkling in trips to Kenya, Nigeria, Israel, South Africa, Malawi, and Rwanda, I consider the continent of Africa my part time home.
A lover of many styles of dance, I became a certified Zumba instructor and enjoy line dancing, salsa, square dancing, ballroom, and even tap. A fun night out combines karaoke and any dancing. I have been blessed to play two lead roles in musical theater, "Hair Spray" and "Nunsense".
In September 2023, I married my Belizean prince charming, Bruce, and cherish our blended family, and new relatives in Belize. I’m in love with my three beautiful grand babies and relish the role of “Nanny Granny”. Sometimes impulsive, always up for a challenge, ready to travel at a moment’s notice, my answer will always be “yes” to God’s leading.
