Overview

RoMi Cage, a Dutch band, blends pop savvy with country influences and a rocky edge. With their contemporary organic sound they guide you through questions about life and love. Their performances have a powerful intimacy and their repertoire can be combined with covers from their inspirators. About

ROMI CAGE one name covering two people: writers duo Romy (Ro) and Michaël (mi) Coomans (Cage). Indeed, they share the same last name. This single Artists name represents the way in which they feel as one with each other, their passion for music and the world around them.

RoMi Cage brings modern pop savvy with a hint of country and a touch of rock. Their character balances between the organic guitarsound of John Mayer, the modernity of Coldplay, the integrity of Sara Bareilles and the passion of Alanis Morissette. Romy angelic voice evokes emotions of any kind. “Things We Never Say” –their debutalbum- covers theme’s like hope, faith and love.

November 2014 RoMi Cage sent an email to one of the the greatest producers worldwide -Joe Chiccarelli- asking him if he would be willing to produce their album. Only a day later they received an enthousiastic message saying he was flattered by their interest, inspired by their story, touched by their songs and overwhelmed by Romy’s voice. Joe won eight Grammy Awards and produced albums of U2, Alanis Morissette, Elton John, Jason Mraz and many more..

Joe Chiccarelli: “I was immediately struck by Romy’s voice. It was so powerful, passionate and professional. It was very, very impressive. Then they sent me two or three songs and I instantly went – wow, these guys really got something unique going on!”

This unique chance to record their debut album in Los Angeles with pro Joe Chiccarelli was financially (and mentally) supported by over 350 sponsors.
Before having brought out even one single, RoMi Cage performed as a support act for Dutch famous band Bløf and played live on the first episode of Radio Veronica’s show “Countdown Café”.

The album is finished, recorded in Sunset Sound Studios, Hollywood featuring Sean Hurley (Bass player i.a. John Mayer ), Victor Indrizzo (drummer i.a. Alanis Morissette), Roger Manning (keys i.a. Beck) and David Levita (guitarist i.a. Sara Bareilles). It was mastered in New York by Emily Lazar (i.a. Beyonce, Bon Jovi).
In september 2015 their documentary ‘On The Road’ was presented at international filmfestival FilmbytheSea. In november 2015 their debut album was officially released in Paradiso, Amsterdam.
