This Harlem-born and raised in New York City. This Chanteuse is a master storyteller with a soulful taste of song; as an international vocalist, Kym has been performing for well over 35 years in the US, Europe, and Asia. Her unique sound, innovative phrasing, impeccable timing, ear for harmony, and emotional commitment to her songs turned her into a professional vocalist at the age of 15 working with "The Socialites" known hit was "Jimmy" produced by J.J. Jackson "But It's Alright" which was a song hit for Mr. Jackson. Ms. Lawrence has appeared on Broadway as a pit singer for "The Wiz", Raisin in the Sun," and "Sophisticated Ladies". She has also had a starring role in "Harlem Comes to Broadway" and "Women in Music". Whether working as a bandleader or as a guest vocalist, she has performed with many great jazz and Rhythm and Blues icons such as Patience Higgins, Bill Saxon, Danny Mixon, George Gee Big Band, Bernard Purdie and Fukushi Tainaka, and Percy Heath, Lionel Hampton Orchestra and Frank Foster Big Band among acclaimed jazz giants.
