Thank you, Antron! You were an amazing host (and a great pianist yourself!), and I was honored to be part of your super fun event.
We hired Steve to play a surprise 50th Anniversary Party for my parents. He was so easy to work with in the planning stages, was incredibly professional and completely nailed it the day of the event. Steve added a beautiful element to the party with his music. I highly recommend him.
Outstanding musician and I can wait to hear him again.
We hired Steve Shoaf for our wedding ceremony and gave him 3 new songs not only to learn, but to also tweak a bit to make them wedding appropriate. He learned and played them perfectly! He is very talented and very professional! We couldn’t have asked for a better musician for our ceremony! We cant thank you enough Steve for making our special day perfect!

Steve focuses on providing elegant background entertainment for a variety of event types, including dinners, cocktail hours, and private parties and events. He uses an 88-key keyboard and PA when an existing piano is not available or appropriate.
Steve will work with you early in the process to understand your overall plan for your event and your guests. He will adapt his performance to maximize its impact on the success of your event. This will include both song selection as well as style of play. Steve will then "read" the audience as well as the flow of activity to select songs and styles that augment the activity and maximize the listening enjoyment of the attendees. This could range from subtle background music that supports conversation among guests, to a raucous gathering and sing-along around that piano entertaining on-the-spot requests.
No matter the style of your event, Steve will respect your objectives as the host and client. His vast experience and superlative professionalism will serve, as it has for hundreds of clients over the years, to remove any worries or concerns you might have with respect to the entertainment for your event.
Steve Shoaf specializes in providing upscale entertainment for elegant occasions. His expertise is in providing instrumental background entertainment that appeals to a wide range of ages. His repertoire focuses on jazz classics from the first half of the 20th century and classic pop hits from the 60's, 70's, and 80's, and of course includes a huge list of favorites for the holiday season. It also includes a broad range of classical and contemporary tunes popular in wedding ceremonies. Steve plays by ear as well as by music, and thus is happy to take requests to play that special song.
Beginning piano lessons at the age of 4, Steve studied privately in his teens under a professor at Salem College, and then at the North Carolina School of the Arts under the renowned Dr. Clifton Matthews. Steve began performing in high school, and has since developed expertise in a variety of musical styles, including classical, pop, and jazz.
