What to expect
Every event is a little different — and that’s the point.
When you hire Kevin on the Keys, you’re not getting a pre-packaged set dropped into your event. Kevin works with you to shape the music around the room, the occasion, and the experience you want your guests to have
.
Depending on the event, that might mean polished background piano for cocktails or dinner — including standards, bossa nova, Broadway, Disney, pop and rock favorites, or elegant instrumental pop covers in a Bridgerton-style vein — or a lively piano-bar-style singalong or interactive performance where the audience becomes part of the fun.
Kevin is equally comfortable being the musical atmosphere in the room or stepping forward as an entertainer. He reads the crowd, adjusts in real time, takes requests when appropriate, and brings humor, warmth, and spontaneity without ever making the event feel forced.
Clients can expect:
- Professional, polished live piano
- Music tailored to the event and audience
- A broad repertoire spanning Broadway, Disney, pop, rock, standards, bossa nova, singalongs, and more
- Easy communication and thoughtful preparation before the event
- Flexibility in the room as the energy and needs of the event change
- An experienced performer who knows when to lead, when to support, and when to let the moment breathe
If you have favorite songs, a theme, a special guest, or a particular atmosphere in mind, Kevin loves building those details into the experience whenever possible.
The goal is simple: to make the music feel like it belongs at your event — not like your event happens to have music in it.
About
Kevin Winebold is a New York City–based pianist, musical director, entertainer, and recording artist whose career has taken him from Broadway concert stages and national tours to Carnegie Hall, cabaret rooms, private events, and everything in between.
Kevin has performed and worked on productions including national tours of The Wedding Singer and All Shook Up, Off-Broadway productions, Broadway concert events, and performances with The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. He has also toured as a pianist with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey and spent more than two decades making music with singers, actors, audiences, and communities around the world.
At the piano, Kevin brings together musicianship, humor, spontaneity, and a genuine love of connecting with people. His repertoire spans Broadway and Disney, pop and rock, standards, singalong favorites, holiday music, and more — and he loves shaping the music around the people in the room rather than simply arriving with a one-size-fits-all set.
Whether he’s providing elegant background music, leading a room in a spirited singalong, accompanying featured performers, or becoming part of the entertainment himself, Kevin’s goal is the same: great music, an easy collaborative experience, and an event that feels distinctly yours.
Kevin is also the creator and host of Kevin on the Keys, a live performance series built around music, laughter, storytelling, guest artists, and connection.
Additional booking notes
Technical needs are flexible and depend on the size and style of the event.
Kevin strongly prefers to perform on a well-maintained acoustic piano, grand piano, or professional-quality digital piano provided by the venue or client. If a suitable instrument is not available, Kevin can bring his own keyboard by prior arrangement; when transporting his keyboard, round-trip car service or rideshare must be provided or reimbursed by the client.
For most background-music and cocktail-hour engagements, amplification may be minimal or unnecessary depending on the room. For larger spaces, interactive performances, singalongs, or events with additional performers, appropriate sound reinforcement may be needed.
Access to a nearby electrical outlet is required when using an electronic keyboard or amplification.
Kevin is happy to coordinate with the venue, event planner, or production team in advance to make sure the setup is appropriate for the space and the event.
