No one is asked to do anything strenuous or unusual. Guests settle in within the first minute.
We begin with a few slow breaths, seated or standing. From there, gentle flowing movement through the shoulders, spine, hips, and hands. I demonstrate everything as we go, so there is nothing to memorize and no way to fall behind.
Everyone works at their own level. Some move big, some move small, some stay seated the whole time. All of it counts.
We close with a short guided rest, so guests leave calm rather than revved up.
Most people are surprised by how much shifts in a short time. Looser shoulders, steadier feet, better spirits than when they walked in.
No experience needed. No one is put on the spot. Everyone is welcome.
Hi, I'm Kent. I teach Qi Gong, and meditation.
Qi Gong is slow, flowing movement paired with breath. It is gentler than yoga and a little more playful. No floor work, no mats, no special clothing. Every movement works standing or seated, so a room of mixed ages and mixed abilities all take part together. Suits or sneakers, chair or no chair, everyone is in.
I am a certified Holden Qi Gong Tier 1 teacher based in Olympia, Washington. I teach weekly classes across the South Sound, live online, and at retreats and events around the country.
Every session is designed to be accessible, safe, and respectful. We set a simple intention, work at your pace, and keep it practical and kind. People walk out looser in the shoulders, steadier on their feet, and calmer than when they came in.
Sessions typically run 20 to 90 minutes, indoors or outdoors, sunrise wake-up or evening wind-down. The content meets your goals and the pace meets your people.
This is a movement and wellness practice, not medical care or treatment.
Open floor space for a group to move freely, indoors or outdoors. Chairs available for anyone who prefers to sit or is not able to stand for the full session, standing and seated guests take part side by side with no separate setup needed.
No mats, no special flooring, no changing area required. Guests stay in whatever they are wearing.
Sound: my voice carries for groups up to about 30 without amplification. For larger groups, a basic PA or handheld mic is appreciated but not required.
Lighting: standard room lighting is fine. No special lighting needed.
I bring everything else. Nothing for you to source or set up beyond the space itself.
I trained directly under Lee Holden, whose Holden QiGong programs have brought this practice to a wide audience through public television and online teaching. I am a certified Holden Qi Gong Tier 1 instructor.
