Engaging, imaginative, warm, melodic, inventive, quirky, wacky, never the same. Natural, unamplified, no electronics.

About

Christopher Brooks has performed in chamber music ensembles and orchestras in both Europe and the U.S.A., including concertmaster of the Orquesta Bética Filarmónica de Sevilla , the Frysk Orkest, Lancaster Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony, and Allegro. He has been deeply involved with improvisation since childhood. Brooks recently published a book on improvisation, The Creative Violinist. Kēnòr is the culmination of years of work and introspection on the marriage of improvisation and classical technique, drawing deeply from modern composer such as Béla Bartók and Elliott Carter.
Lj Palmer is a percussionist whose passion for jazz enables him to adapt to a variety of musical styles. As his innate sense of invention is energized, Kēnòr provides a means to explore percussion beyond the norm.
John Milosich is a multi-disciplinary performer exploring the intersection between art and meditation. He also performs locally as MiloSolo and with his ensemble, Featherburn.
The word kēnòr means “violin” in modern Hebrew. In biblical Hebrew, it means “some kind of string instrument.” King David played the kēnòr.
