Kendra’s Cello

Described as playing with “authority, grace and artistry…” following her most recent performance of the Haydn Cello Concerto in D with the Oakville Symphony Orchestra, Kendra Grittani is a up and coming young cellist performing in venues across Canada. Kendra has completed her Masters in cello performance at McGill University with accomplished symphonic and chamber musician, and cello professor, Elizabeth Dolin.

Kendra has performed with various orchestras including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the McGill Symphony Orchestra, the McGill Opera Orchestra, the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. She currently holds a full time position with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony cello section.

As a chamber musician, with the piano trio ‘Trio Meira’, Kendra Grittani was awarded 1st prize at the 2018 McGill University Chamber Competition. Along with a debut performance in Montreal, ‘Trio Meira’ was awarded a week long residency at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.

In the summer of 2021, Kendra was invited to perform alongside other young Canadian musicians in Les Jeunes Virtuous Ensemble as part of the 2021 Montreal Chamber Music Festival, performing in over 20 concerts for the public of Montreal.

Kendra has also had the privilege to perform in concert halls across North America and Europe including British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Salzburg, and Nice, alongside accomplished professionals such as Axel Strauss, Stephane Lemelin, Elizabeth Dolin, Ariel Barnes, Riko Higuma, Steve Dann, Erika Raum and many more.

Contract:
Schedule
The Client has provided the exact time slot during which the Performer(s) will perform. Every service provided outside the initial time slot will be charged 60$ per half hour increment.
In the case of tardiness on the Client’s behalf, the Client will not be refunded for lost time.
The Client is not responsible for any case of tardiness on the Performer(s) behalf; unless specific conditions following this contract have been taken between both parties; the Client will be refunded 60$ for each 30 minute increment which the Performer(s) is tardy.

Payment and Deposits
Rates include 200$ per hour per performer. The rate for every half hour is 100$. An arrangement fee will also be charged if the Client has special requests. If the Client requests a piece of music which is not within the Performers’ repertoire, the Client must consult the Performer(s) and request said music 14 calendar days prior to the event. Arrangement of music and sheet music fee will be applied to the total fee. This fee will vary depending on the number of performers and songs, and will be discussed at the Client’s discretion.
Travel fees are not included in the initial rates, and will be charged depending on the distance of the location, and duration of travel.
A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total fee will be due upon booking the Performer(s), and will only be reimbursed if the performance is canceled by the Performer(s).
An invoice may be provided upon request.
Form of payment accepted are check, cash and e-transfer.
Materials
Client will be informed no later than 2 weeks prior to the event of materials needed at the location of the performance.
If the Client requires the Performer(s) to be amped, they must let the Performer(s) know upon booking.
The Client is required to supply a power source (if the Performer(s) are to be amped), as well as chairs, without arms or wheels, proportional to the number of performers.
The Performer(s) require a minimum of 9 square ft per musician in order to insure safety to their instruments and ample room to perform.
Location
In case of inclement weather, the Performer(s) must be provided with protection.
If the Performer(s) arrive and are unable to perform due to inclement weather, the Client is still responsible for 100% of the fee. If the Client is planning an outdoor event, they are required to have a back up solution in case of inclement weather.
This Policy and Agreement is a legal contract between Kendra Grittani Freelance Cellist (herein called Performer(s)) and the Client for performance services by Kendra Grittani Freelance Cellist for the Client.
Please provide backup arrangements in case of inclement weather. Please insure that the protection provided will completely protect the Performer(s)’ instruments from damage.
Cancellation Policy
If the Client cancels the event, the deposit is non-refundable. If the client cancels within 7 calendar days of the event, they will owe an additional 20% of the total fee to the Performer(s). If the Client cancels on the day of the performance, they agree to pay 100% of the total fee.
If The Performer(s) cancel the performance, the deposit will be refunded and the Performer(s) will not be subject to any additional fees.
Attire
The Performer(s) will be clothed in professional black attire, unless otherwise requested by the Client.
If the Performer(s) is required to purchase any additional clothing, this charge will be
added to the Client’s total fee.
