What to expect
I love entertaining an audience. Aside from presenting my original arrangements of what I consider to be great songs, i engage the audience throughout my performance by providing interesting comments about different aspects of the music. When I sing a well-known song, I encourage the audience to sing-along with me. I hear two comments repeatedly from audience members: they love my wide selection of songs and they enjoy how I engage with the audience. If you are a more mature audience member and you love great music, my performance will arouse wonderful memories of special occasions in you life and the lives of your friends and family.
About
I have loved to sing and perform since I was a child. Not thinking that I could make a living at it, I studied the Health Sciences in college and then attended Dental School at the University of Pennsylvania. I practiced for several years, but the practice left me very unsatisfied.
I applied to graduate school in the performing arts and was accepted into the Masters Degree program in Acting and Directing at Florida Atlantic University. I continued my theater training at Michigan State University and graduated with a Ph D degree. I moved to New York City and spent fifteen years performing and directing plays in NY, Michigan, Florida and Kentucky. Several singing opportunities arose and I began to study music more seriously. I performed in cabarets, theaters, private parties, hotels, weddings , libraries and retirement communities. Singing and playing the piano opened up more employment opportunities and I began to perform on a regular basis.
My shows are performed on acoustic pianos, supplemented by percussion units which greatly enhance the sound and "vibe" of "pop" and rock songs. I provide a state-of-the-art Bose sound system which provides great clarity. My performances range from energetic dance rhythms to romantic ballads. My baritone voice has been described as “warm and soothing”, and I love to get audience members up on the dance floor or singing along with their favorite songs.
I was described in a Saratoga Living magazine feature article entitled: A Man For All Seasons / Dentist, Actor, Singer, Professor, Cantor, Rabbi as “ . . . a gifted man who has accomplished a great deal intellectually, artistically and within every community he has touched.”
I have never missed a performance or backed out of a performance once I agreed to do the job.
Additional booking notes
I perform with either an acoustic piano, if there is one at the venue, or with my digital piano. I have a new, state-of-the-art Bose speaker system which has incredible clarity. i also use a drumming machine which provides an element of versatility to my performances and really enhances the more current "pop" and rock n roll songs that I do. My set up and tear down takes about forty minutes each.

Influences and inspiration
I have been influenced by the great singers of the twentieth century including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Jack Jones, Nat King Cole, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald and Karen Carpenter. Broadway has also been a major influence on my musical taste and style. Growing up in NYC, I got to see a large number of classic productions. Performers like Anthony Newley, Julie Andrews, and Angela Lansbury have inspired me over the years.
Setup requirements
I bring everything I need to perform with me. I only need access to an electrical outlet.
