Brides Beware

This rating is based solely on my experience. I cannot in good consciousness recommend Kelvin for Catholic mass weddings. However, I don’t believe in casting someone aside for one bad experience. I believe in supporting musicians, so if you’re looking to book Kelvin, please give him a chance. If you are interested in an accounting of my experience with Kelvin and my Catholic Mass wedding, please feel free to message me directly, or email me at Chevelle262@gmail.com.

About

BIOGRAPHY
Kelvin McKay-Hill has been playing music for over 20 years. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Kelvin fuses his love of 60s and 70s rock, Soul, Blues, and R&B with his formalized training in classical music to produce unique textures that have been part of many projects during his career.

Kelvin began playing violin at age 10 in his elementary school orchestra; That's where he developed his love for music. In high school, he'd pursue graphic design and visual arts only to return to his love of music in college. Kelvin teaches a variety of subjects including (but not limited to) Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano (Beginning), Voice (Beginning), Music Theory, Musicianship, Songwriting, Composition, and Conducting.

Kelvin has especially excelled in the classical guitar world. He's studied with the President of the Guitar Foundation of America, Dr, Martha Masters, at Loyola Marymount University where he also received a BA in Music with a concentration in Classical Guitar Performance. He's also participated in masterclasses with world classes musicians such as Scott Tenant, Bill Kanengiser, Roland Dyens, Andrew York, Nigel North, and Paul Galbraith.

Passionate about education, Kelvin will be going back to school to get his Master's in Music. In addition to that, he is currently working on various new projects that will be announced on this website. Kelvin is available for lessons in person or via Skype as well as events, weddings, and conferences.
