What to Expect
After booking me for an event, I will create a display board that best fits the theme of the party. I've custom-designed display boards for a Super Mario-themed party, unicorn-themed party, and a minion-themed party to name a few. Just let me know what your guest of honor loves and we'll make it happen!
I will arrive at the event ten minutes early to set up all the materials and meet the kiddos. Set up is quick and easy! I'll set up my director's chair, Craft-n-Go face painting kit, and display board. I bring everything I need with me, including fresh water to clean brushes and face wipes. I also like to bring stickers for kiddos who don't want to be painted but still want to be part of the fun.
Before I begin painting I like to put numbers on the guests' hands in the order of when they will be painted (the guest of honor goes first, of course). This number system is an easy way to let the kiddos know when it's their turn so they can be free to enjoy other activities while waiting to be painted.
While I paint all the guests, my assistant will be available to take high-quality photos of the event and engage with guests. These photos will be sent to the client's email address via Dropbox and are a free service we provide to all clients.
The kiddos are free to be as imaginative with their designs as they'd like. If they want a half-monster half-tiger, we'll make it happen! Some designs may take longer than others and for this reason I always stay as long as it takes to accommodate everyone, even if I end up staying a bit longer than the scheduled end time.
Let me know at any time during the booking and event process if you have any questions or requests. We want the event to be as memorable and fun as possible!
I'm Kelsey, a native San Diegan obsessed with color.
It all began when I started working as a literal super hero at a pediatric dentistry. My job was to make kids feel super happy while waiting for the dentist. What's the easiest way to calm fears and make a kid smile? Face painting! Something as simple as an ice cream cone or basketball cheek art could make kids actually want to come back to the dentist.
I created Kelsey's Colors as a way to bring the skills I learned in my first post-grad job to birthday parties and events. There's nothing better than watching kids light up from seeing their individuality and creativity reflected in a face painting.
I also love watercolor painting, reading mysteries, and watching competitive cooking shows.
