What to expect

Blues, Folk and Soul - Acoustic and/or Electric. A professional band with a tight sound that sets up an emotional connection with the audience. Lots of energy.

About

Kelly's Lot plays Americana and Blues with a roadhouse rockin' sound that is upbeat, heartfelt and fun. The band was formed in 1994 by singer Kelly Zirbes after years of songwriting and playing for friends and family. Kelly Z, a folk singer with a heart for the blues, recorded her first demo CD, "Kelly's Lot", with J. Peter Robinson, composer and keyboard player. Along the way they recorded 16 CDs including 4 LIVE CDs , 'Live at The Troubadour'. 'Stop And Make A Difference' 'Trio' and ‘Live in Brussels’, headlined local festivals, toured regionally and embarked on national and international tours. Playing for charity became a norm for the band starting in 1999 after Kelly realized that music and giving back made a good match. It gave Kelly that extra inspiration she needed to perform and write more. Many of Kelly's Lot fans are blues lovers and encouraged her to play more in that style. It was a natural step since that is what she grew up with listening to her mother play records late at night. After booking more blues festivals including The Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland Oregon, the Big Fish Blues Festival, Maxson Roadhouse, The Santa Clarita Blues Festival and the Pasadena Blues Festival, the band has found it’s heart in that direction. Kelly writes a lot of songs with guitar player and co-writer Perry Robertson which adds a Texas flavor to the mix. Never forgetting her beginnings, folk/rock music is blended with the blues to capture the forever growing sound of Kelly's Lot. "I'm excited to do keep doing more traditional blues but other styles are part of this band’s journey and there's room for it all." Acoustic or Electric, small or large group, you can find Matt McFadden on bass and Art Mendoza on drums, Bobby Orgel on keys plus Perry and Rob Zucca on guitars. Bill Johnston and Aviva Maloney on Sax and Frank Hinojosa on Harp
