When you hire Keith the Guitar Guy, my goal is to make the entertainment portion of your event easy, professional, and fun from start to finish.

I arrive with plenty of time to load in, set up, and sound check well before your guests arrive. For smaller performances, I generally arrive at least one hour early. For larger events requiring additional sound, lighting, or setup, I may arrive two to three hours early so everything is completely ready before your event begins.

I provide my own professional-quality sound and lighting equipment, and I can have background or “house” music playing through my sound system as your guests arrive. Extra microphones are also available for announcements, introductions, toasts, and speeches when needed.

Your music will be tailored to your event and your audience. I bring an extensive repertoire of Classic Rock, Oldies, Country, Blues, and Reggae favorites, and I can adjust my set list on the fly as I read the room. If the crowd wants to relax and socialize, I can keep things comfortable and conversational. If they're ready to sing along, dance, and have some fun, I can turn up the energy!

As a One Man Band, I combine live guitar and vocals with professionally produced backing tracks to deliver the sound and energy of a full band while requiring considerably less performance space. Just as importantly, I can control my volume to suit your venue—from tasteful background music to a lively full-band experience.

I keep breaks to a minimum and often perform straight through, depending on the length and needs of the event. My focus is always on maintaining the atmosphere and keeping your guests entertained.

Most importantly, I understand that I'm there to complement your event—not take it over. I work with you, your event planner, venue staff, and other vendors to help everything run smoothly.

My role is simple: show up prepared, be professional, read the room, play great music, and help make your event a memorable one.

I started playing guitar at the age of 15 in 1978, and within six months I was playing in my first band—and we were already gigging! I learned a tremendous amount from musicians around me, especially my Uncle Bob, an outstanding lead guitarist in Los Angeles. I also got quite an education from the other guys in my band who were more experienced than I was. Playing with better musicians pushed me to learn quickly!
Over the years, I've played in many different bands, performing everything from our own original music to popular cover songs. I've always loved a wide variety of music, so playing different styles comes naturally to me. Classic rock is at the heart of what I do, but I also love performing oldies, blues, reggae, and country. For me, a great song is a great song, regardless of the genre.
Today's technology has made it possible for me to take everything I've learned from years of playing in bands and bring it together as a One Man Band. Using live guitar and vocals along with professionally produced backing tracks allows me to create the sound and energy of a full band—all by myself!
The great thing is that I can still control the volume to fit the occasion. I can create a full-band sound at the same comfortable volume level as a solo acoustic performance when needed. And as an added bonus for smaller venues and events, I take up a lot less space!
After all these years, I still love playing guitar, performing for people, and sharing the music that has been such a big part of my life.
