I am available to play bass guitar for many different genres including rock, indie, alternative, R&B, and worship music. I have been playing for 9 years and have experience playing on a church worship team for over a year. I have also played at multiple church youth related events in areas near where I live.

I love music and I am not afraid to jam out to it! If I am hired by a client and if they allow it I will openly jam and jump to the music while I am playing, but that can only happen if I know the songs I am playing well enough, so I make an effort to know the songs before I play in front of others. At the same time, if I am needed to just play music than I can do so. I personally believe that the band should be enjoying the music is playing and if the audience can't see that how can one expect them to enjoy the music as well?
I am currently 21 and a undergraduate student at NC State University studying Psychology. I have a passion for music! When I was 12 I was given my first bass for Christmas even though I had no idea how guitars worked. After a few years I played in a band with my high school friends just for fun. I continued to play and develop my bass playing on my own until I started going to Bridgepointe Church in Apex, NC during my sophomore year of (link hidden)eir worship team is very talented! For many months I wanted to ask for an opportunity to join the team but I was honestly intimidated. My friend who played drums on the team finally talked me into joining and when I finally started playing for the church I learned a lot and developed a lot of skills. By playing with the church, our worship team leader has asked me to play at multiple church camps and other church related events around the state and even in South Carolina. When our worship leader stepped away from leading our team I decided to learn guitar. I've only been playing for about 5 months but I've already learned a lot to the point where I could even play guitar for our worship team if the situation called for it (but our worship team has many talented musicians that could play guitar). I decided to create this Gigsalad account because I simply would love more opportunities to play music and help create the fun atmosphere that comes with listening to live music!
Unfortunately, I am a poor college student so the most I will be able to provide is a guitar. I do not own a decent amp or cable because I only use something good enough for playing in my room. I am not difficult though, as long as I can hear myself playing!

I have played many more worship songs and pop punk songs.
The band that I first liked was a ska group called Five Iron Frenzy. The first group I loved and fell in love with was Green Day (their bassist Mike Dirnt was also the reason I got a bass guitar). I am a big fan of punk rock and alternative rock and this is what I usually listened to throughout high school. Going into college I started listening to 90s emo and bands that are considered to be a part of the "emo revival." This includes bands like American Football, Mineral, Rainer Maria, Tigers Jaw, Into It. Over It., Jawbreaker, etc. I also like Indie rock groups such as Real Estate, Miniature Tigers, Owen, and Japandroids. Most of these groups are not known amongst my friends so I have been called a hipster, but I also love jazz, old school hip-hop/rap, R&B, and techno. When I play I like to think that I incorporate the bass playing style of the bassists from the bands Rainer Maria, Green Day, Minor Threat, and Sunny Day Real Estate. However, I have also noticed that my play style changes as I get into a certain group I am listening to at the time.
