Keena's Kitchen is an organic personal chef service operating out of Oakland's rich, diverse and bustling food scene. Chef Ikeena (Keena) Hardman works with people who have made a conscious decision to eat a little better change the way they see and think about organic foods--so that change influences their purchasing and eating habits more "organically" over time. We specialize in small in-home dinner parties, personal meal service and live cooking classes for corporate clients, small groups and individuals of the Greater Bay Area catering, especially, to those with allergies and food sensitivities. Wether you plan an intimate dinner for 2, an interactive cooking course for friends, a small wedding at a private venue or an important business dinner for 15, we can customize the menu to fit your unique culinary wishes! Vegan, gluten free, dairy free and a host of other dietary restrictions are of the upmost consideration when planning your special meal--and if you have no food allergies or sensitivities, then the sky is the limit. We source only the best organic, local and sustainable ingredients so you feel at ease when eating from the curated menus we provide!
After you have provided all the necessary information in your phone consultation, the chef will work directly with you to tailor a menu and create the perfect event within your target budget. Extras are available if you need them, like service or bar staffing and decor. Payment is made via credit card right here on he site. You can rest comfortably knowing that the chef will take care of all your dining details.
The chef arrives at the specified time, prepares the meal/or meals and cleans up after the service. Gratuities are given in cash or by check at the end of service....and

Former student of the California Culinary Academy, Chef Ikeena Reed is the Founder of Keena’s Kitchen in Oakland, California. Keena's Kitchen is a modern, organic Personal Chef service that seeks to revive traditional Soul Food by reintroducing culturally relevant and familiar foods in creative ways. She offers personal chef services and live cooking skills courses to communities of the Bay Area and beyond. Everything on her menu is organic, local and sustainable; and she brings each of these elements, from farmland to plate, remaining conscious of her client's health in the preparation process. While the cuisine offered at Keena’s Kitchen is rooted in a Louisiana Creole style, Chef Ikeena is bringing a sweet California twist to her menus with her trademark style, Keena’s California Soul Cuisine™. This blend of vibrant California produce, meats and seafood matched with Creole based techniques produces a colorful array of fresh, seasonal meals--an elegant marriage of California cuisine and Southern Soul Food traditions.
Tips for a Great Service:
1) Clear your counter space! Please put away small electric appliances, plants, knick knacks, etc. Yes we really do need all that space!
2) Make sure that your dishwasher is empty, fully operational, and plenty of dishwashing tablets are on hand. If your dishwasher is non-operational,
or you require hand-washing of any dishes, china or glassware, please let me know ASAP, as additional staff will need to be brought in for this task.
3) We are not a cleaning service--cleaning before we start shaves time off of your intended dining/seating start time, and incurs an additional cost.
4) Please remove any area rugs from your kitchen floors, foam mats may be left down. If you have a shoe-free home, let us know so we can bring booties.
5) Make sure your trash, recycling, and compost is emptied prior to our arrival, and you have a good supply of bags on hand.
6) We are not permitted to wash any crystal stemware or crystal service ware due to liability reasons, your crystal will be rinsed with clear water and set aside during your cleanup. Rentals are rinsed and re-packed for washing off-site.
7) Please clear as much fridge space as possible, minimally at least 1-2 shelves in your fridge for your chef to use during your event.
8) If you would like me to provide rental glassware, stemware, serving platters, plates, silverware, china, barware, etc. Please let me know a minimum of 5 days prior to your event to allow for coordination and delivery scheduling.
9) We bring quite a lot of gear with us. Please let us know if close parking is an issue. If you are in an area where parking is a problem, we require a designated parking spot for our exclusive use during the entire event. If we're required to park offsite, carry gear long distances, or pay for parking, the cost will be added to your final bill.
10) For health & safety reasons, children, guests, and pets are not permitted to be in the kitchen and prep areas during the event.
11) Finally, sit back, RELAX, and enjoy yourself! If there is anything that we can do make your event better, please don’t hesitate to ask any member of our team.

Chef Ikeena draws on the influence of the various Soul Food traditions around the world. The contributions of the peoples of the African Diaspora and their unique brands of Soul Food have always had a strong presence in her own cooking. From the French Creole areas of Louisiana and the Southern Influence of the Midwest, to the Gullah Islands of the Carolinas, to the Caribbean and the Afro presence in Cuba, Brazil & Mexico--Chef Ikeena believes there is a common thread that connects those cuisines; and she taps into that thread to create food that is familiar, provocative and fun!
