I'm composed on stage in a fashion that comes across as relaxed, genuine, and approachable. Traditionally I veer towards a softer approach for ceremony music unless there are specific criteria being asked for. I have some very unique outro songs after the ceremony to break up the solemnity as well.
If you'd like me to hang around for the reception (maybe sing a song or 10) and a slightly tipsy groomsman jumps on stage wanting to share the mic in front of your videographer (true story), I will turn on the charm and play right along as if I was expecting it. I mean, the reception IS a party after all :)
Everybody loves music. It kinda makes everything better. Music can serve as an ice breaker, an apology, a proposal... a memory. I love amazing music from any genre and in any language. All of my siblings sing and/or play an instrument - It was part of our lives growing up and remains that way even now.
I'm a life-long vocalist and musician and have had some amazing experiences performing for corporate events, singing in dance/wedding bands, church services, funerals, launch parties, birthday parties, professional sporting events... you name it. The best part about these experiences is that they've spanned racial, ethnic, age, social, and economic demographics, all of which only gave me an ever greater appreciation for being able to do something that I love.
I'm well-versed with a wide range of music genres including Top 40, Pop, Alternative, R&B, Neo-Soul, Funk, Jazz, Gospel, CCM, and some classical. My strengths are in vocal and band arranging, Pop/Top 40, Neo-Soul, and contemporary gospel with jazz/blues infusions.
The color of my voice is an alto and I have range through 2nd soprano.
I apologize, however I do not supply PA systems. For smaller gigs I am happy to bring an amplifier if need be along with my own mic.
If I am both playing and singing for your event, I travel with a Kurzweil SP2 stage piano. While I strongly prefer to use Backline, an amplifier can be provided if it's appropriate to serve the setting.
With larger events or those outside where there is liable to be ambient noise, I strongly urge you to look into using Backline.
