Overview
Kathy is a solo jazz vocalist, singing jazz standards of the 1920s through 50s plus more contemporary tunes with a jazz twist in the mix. Kathy has performed at many of the area jazz clubs, including Mr. Henry's, Twins Jazz, JoJo's, area country clubs, restaurants and private parties. She sings with a top tier band of musicians, adaptable to suit your needs--vocals with piano or guitar, to a trio with an added bass, to a quintet with sax and drums. Kathy is also 1/3 of the vocal trio "The Pop Chicks," singing pop tunes from female artists from the 1960s to today! Sing and dance to the tunes you know from the times you love! It's a party!!

Kathy was punctual, professional, and a joy to work with. She truly connected with our residents and performed wonderful jazz classics that everyone enjoyed. We especially appreciated how she shared brief histories behind many of the songs and graciously honored all of our requests. We had the absolute pleasure of having Kathy and her piano player, Zenon, provide live jazz for our Night to Shine Respite Room, and they were wonderful. This space was specifically for the caregivers and parents of our special needs prom guests, and their music set the perfect tone for the evening.
Kathy’s vocals paired beautifully with Zenon on piano, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere that our families truly enjoyed. They were kind, professional, and right on time, making everything seamless from start to finish.
Our caregivers and parents felt honored and appreciated, and Kathy and Zenon’s presence helped make that possible. We were so grateful to have them as part of such a special night and would gladly welcome them back for future events.

I recently hired a band led by Kathy for a large event with nearly 70 guests, and they were absolutely fantastic! The group — featuring a bassist and a pianist — set the perfect vibe and truly became the highlight of the night. They were professional, incredibly accommodating, and had such a great attitude throughout the event.

About
Kathy Farmer's beautiful voice, expressiveness, jazz sensibility, engaging personality, and ability to connect with her audience make her a standout. Her great love of jazz was influenced by her mom's favorite radio station and Broadway show albums that filled the home with American Songbook classics.
Her stylistic approach has been influenced by some of the jazz greats, including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Anita O'Day, Judy Garland, etc. The great women pop singers--like Whitney Houston, Dusty Springfield, Carole King, Gladys Knight, Linda Ronstadt, Norah Jones, plus the iconic male pop stars, including the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and are also part of Kathy's large repertoire.
Kathy wears a few singing hats, offering the performance range and scope of music to fit both audience and venue--from jazz standards, to 1920s/Gatsby/Prohibition era music, to pop hits from the 1950s to today.
