Kata Maya is a Professional Middle Eastern Performer/Belly Dancer and teacher with over 20 years of dance experience. She is currently located in Oklahoma City and is a member of the Aalim Bellydance Academy, as well as a current touring member of Bellydance Evolution in Hollywood, CA.
Her performance locations have included Germany, Italy, and China, as well as all over the US, such as New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, Chicago, and Dallas.
Her styles include Egyptian, Lebanese, Greek, and modern Fusion.

Kata Maya is available for a variety of performance options. She offers packages including 15-min "Belly-Grams" to a full Wedding Zeffa.
She entertains and connects with her audience while wow-ing guests with her sharp hip hits, smooth belly rolls, and awe inspiring prop work, including double swords and finger cymbals! Guests are invited to clap, dance along, and enjoy the energy of Belly Dance.
Kata Maya believes that Belly Dance is for all ages, so you can expect a family-friendly show, properly attired, and professionally mannered.
Kata Maya is a Professional Bellydancer in Oklahoma City, OK and 2017's Belly Dancer of the Year. She is a performer, instructor, choreographer, and overall dance enthusiast. With over 20 years of dance experience, Kata Maya is a life-long member of the Middle Eastern Dance community. Beginning Belly Dance at the age of five, Kata Maya grew up at The Isis Star Dancer Studio in D/FW, TX. By 14 she entered the dance competition world, winning multiple titles, including Bellydancer of the Universe at only 17 years old.
While at Texas A&M University, she became a member, and soon teacher, of The Brazos Raqs Ensemble. She participated in community festivals, expanded dancer’s knowledge through choreography and her Belly Dance Boot Camp Program, and helped create The Brazos Valley Belly Dancers, a community group of dancers determined to expand general awareness of Middle Eastern Dance within the Brazos Valley. She also co-produced “Egyptian Nights – a night of local and professional talent in the Brazos Valley”. After graduating Cum Laude, Kata Maya returned home to the Star Dancer Studio and rejoined The Wings of Isis. She also became the instructor of The Treasures of Isis, a class for teenage girls at the Star Dancer Studio. Life eventually led her to San Antonio, TX and Oklahoma City.
She is currently a member of the Aalim Bellydance Academy as well as a touring member of Bellydance Evolution, an international dance troupe based in Hollywood, CA.
Kata Maya performs locally and internationally at parties, haflas, festivals, and clubs.
She is known for her energy and grace on stage. From sharp hits to quick turns, from kicks to back bends, Kata Maya is truly a star in the Middle Eastern Dance community.

For each performance, Kata Maya will need to know:

*name/country of origin of the guest of honor (if applicable)
*size of dance space
*if performance is inside/outside
*address, contact info, performance time
Kata Maya does require that the event location have an appropriate sound system for Ipods.
She will also need a safe area to prepare before the show, and keep her items.
For most events, 3 weeks notice is requested. If your event is less then that, contact Kata Maya anyway as she may have a cancellation or opening.

She specializes in American Cabaret and Egyptian style, but is also influenced by Turkish, Lebanese, Spanish Gypsy, and Fusion styles.
